Or just ask yourself how a purely digital device could cause this.

 

If you think that noise is getting thru, then just isolate it.

 

And then there is always the option to do a blind test - that is independent of any mechanistic behavior.

Whoa - hold on.  Uptone makes devices which isolate and reclock, not merely switches.  Maybe some of the others too.

 

There are (or can be) very valid reasons to isolate signals - tho the transformers on even wired ethernet should be adequate for most DACs.

 

I'll let others argue about the merits of re-clocking...

 

But, I'm sure Uptone & Sonore - maybe others - want their products to be understood properly.
