Popular Post Musicophile
I was, or actually am, and album listener through and through. In spite of now years with computer audio and the ability to use playlists, I've barely ever used them. I've actually only just now started discovering curated playlists, on my streaming service of choice, Qobuz, based on this recent discussion: I really liked the idea of artists sharing their playlists. So I discovered that Qobuz has a similar feature. Let me start by sharing my most recent favorite, of an artist even unknown to me: https://open.qobuz.com/playlist/1784198 This is the by a French Jazz artist Florian Pellissier, that I must admit I didn't know before. But his choices are really excellent. The list goes from Daft Punk via Ligeti to Miles Davis and Brad Mehldau. Makes me want to meet the guy without even knowing him. Check this out! I hope this thread will become a platform for sharing your best curated Qobuz playlists by others, or even your own. shadowlight, Don Blas De Lezo, left channel and 1 other 3 1 Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
Musicophile
Great to see some action on this thread. Hopefully it will become even more active once Qobuz finally makes it across the pond. Here's my next one: https://open.qobuz.com/playlist/1549842 It is the playlist chosen by the French string quartet Quatuor Arod, whose excellent Mendelssohn recording is nicely enough also featured in this playlist. Otherwise you get a great variety from Avishai Cohen (the bass player), via Dinah Washington, to Claude François Comme d'habitude (the original of Frankie Boy's My Way) . Worth checking out! rando 1 Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
Musicophile
By the way, I found an easy way to play one of the playlists posted here directly within Audirvana. Click on the link. Then click on "listen on Qobuz", and finally (if you're logged into the web player), you can then click "+ subscribe (s'abonner)", the playlist then shows under your Qobuz playlists in A+. E voilà! This is my current process: click on playlist URL, which takes you to the playlist on the Qobuz website Click on Listen on Qobuz, which opens the desktop app Once in the app, I can "subscribe" to the playlist Is there a way to use the URL in the desktop (or iOS for that matter) app directly? I don't have the desktop player installed (I only use A+), so it opens for me directly in the browser. Musicophile
I'm still essentially an album listener, which is kind of silly in the times of streaming, but habits change slowly. Therefore, I haven't been checking out Qobuz' playlists for a while. That said, I'm a particular fan of discovering music that other artists like. Here's a good recent addition to their playlists that's worth checking out: Dutch-Israeli singer Keren Ann has created her personal playlist for Devialet, going from Leonard Cohen via Billie Holiday to Blur. Really worth checking out (particularly for me, to get me out of my habit to exclusively listening to classical and jazz): https://play.qobuz.com/playlist/2306343 Richter Di 1 Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
Musicophile
Just discovered a really nice rather interesting list by French audio dealer Les Artisans du Son: https://play.qobuz.com/playlist/2359639 an interesting mix of Jazz Classical and a lot of other stuff, with some old classics like a Kind of Blue. But I admit they really won me over by featuring the Ghostbusters soundtrack... Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
