Hi @PeterSt,

First congratulations on your new findings, very interesting. What processor are you using for the 10/20?

So in reading about Luch^2 i am still confused by my imagination, i am a diy’er, the tree shields go on top of the “ more or less lush^1”? So the two data lines and the 5V are not separated by shielding? In my imagination i would put the 5v between the red and yellow shield.

BTW the lush cable was my first high end cable i purchased.

PS/ Kamagra is more topical than oral...

Yes yes it is all connected earthing, shielding cables your chakras and pressure ponts. All needs to be perfect otherwise you get bad sound, a specially the root chakra. If that thing is off omg, thunder and not a little bit.

Did you start listening to the cable right away or did you burn it in first?

When first started listening to the lush^1 i was a bit shocked it sounded all messed up. After about 40 hours or so it was better but still climbing. It was really a night and day cable, amazing really. 

Soon i will know if lush^2 has the samething or @PeterSt cooks the cables first before sending them off.

Roch, and everybody, please be careful with changing configurations too quickly, because I have the idea that mine, now just over a week old, changes quite drastically each day still. Best is to have one config which may suite you, and leave that be for a week or so. Otherwise you may get mad and, for example, will not revisit a rejected earlier config while you actually should. 

 

I was planning to connect all shields on both sides and let it burn in for as many hours as i can stand and than start playing with the shields. Well i listen to it after every 15 hous or so.

And with burn in i mean playing music over it. DAC on, amp off.

I got my lush^2 last friday and have been burning it in almost 24/4. Tomorrow i will start playing with the shields. So far i have listend only a few moments to it. The problem is last friday i also got a new set of power supply capacitors for my preamp (mundorf Ag and Panasonic fm) so pre amp is also burning in and will probably sound different/ better. Sounded bad the first two days,  always scary did something go wrong ?

Tomorrow i will know more.

Pitty i can’t report much only that i have too many changes i my system. Pre-amp not up to scratch jet and i had to remove my iso regen because the clocking cable solder joint broke.

So far:

1: Lush^1 original

2: lush^2 jssg 360  wasn’t hearing it.

3: all in serial A: b-w & y-r B: w-y & r-b  noting special to report spooky?

4: A: b-w&r-y  B: w-b   Indeed spatial but bass muddy 

5: A: B-Y & W-R, B: B-Y Neo the one? Indeed sounded really well balanced and spatail.

 Need more burn-in, ears tired.? and repair iso regen.

Finally back in business sound much improved, still at  A: B-Y & W-R, B: B-Y. Listening to Fink, Perfect Darkness I find that there is more depth and the sound comes more into the room all nicely balanced.

I shall report according to the sequence it has turned up in our gathering when it was connecting from my Windows 10 HQplayer to Holo Spring DAC playing mainly classical  orchestral music

 

(1)First that come up is the default config (A: B-W & B-Y  B: B-W) and the sound is sort of neutral nothing surprise. Not really much change from Lush 1 from my memory.

(2)Next up is the A: B-W-Y-R  B: B-W-R and this one shocked everyone present. The orchestra and chorus suddenly falls into place with excellent layering, very lively sound and really holographic layout. Instruments accurately focused. This is the sound of a top notched USB cable one can dream of. 

(3)Then comes the A: B-Y & W-R  B: B-Y & W-R and this another excellent presentation and seems to be on the other extreme. This one gives a very rich timbre of every instrument in the orchestra. And the music easily becomes very enjoyable. I would say that this is more like a tube gear sound while the one before is more like transistor gear sound. Almost all presnt prefer this config to the last one. But to my ears this is the one with a bit too much of mids. The piano sound is not as lively as before and one cannot hear the details as well as the last one. 

(4)Then comes the (JSSG360 )A: B-W & Y-R  B: B-W & Y-R. The sound is sort of in between the first and second one but the musicality is significantly lower than the previous two. In other words, not so musical and then the layering and image focus is also not as good. The music does not catch the ear so much as the others.

(5)Next comes the default again in order to verify whether it is that bad? It is quickly passed because the performance is way lower than the others. 

(6) A: B-W &Y-R  B: B-W-Y-R  not good. quite lean

(7) Then we changed to the Lush 1 to have a listen and everyone finds that it is not listenable. Flat sound stage, muffled sound and not enough details.

 

We don't have time to go to too much detail about the other configs yet. But the second and third one described is way above all the others to our ears. And thanks Peter for giving us such a high quality USB cable and can tune the sound according to one's preference.

Very good write up but keep burning in the lush^2 it's not done yet.

For me too the PNF sounds better coming from the default setting. (First day)

Listened to

1: Ane Brun, Live at Berwald Hallen, The light from one.

2: Supertramp, Crime of the century (24,192), School.

3: Talk talk, Natural order, For what it’s worth.

 

I think Ane sounded really nice. bass, mids and highs are balanced the same as default. Ane sounded more spacious to me with more attack. Near the end of the song I heard a second voice very softly behind Ane’s voice that I never noticed before.

With Supertramp and Talk talk I could clearly hear that a curtain was lifted from the bass and less muddy.

 

I only hope, but time will tell, that the attack or more forward presentation, hard to describe what it is, is not fatiguing.

So basically PNF, A: B-W & Y-R, B: B-W, is connecting connector A with connector B through the innermost shield plus on A side connecting the other shields.

In an attempt to little bit lessen the HF thing but keeping the bass I tried this.

Not going from A to B through innermost shield but go one level up though the yellow shield plus on the A side connect white and red.

So A: B-Y & W-R  B: B-Y

 

Curious what you think of this configuration.

So we may can conclude from this Series that the further away the connecting shield from the data lines the better the SQ

Mmmmm this A: B-R, Y-W B: B-R sounds really nice. I was on A: B-Y, R-W B: B-Y which was a toned down version of PNF, good bass definition, less hf energy. 

This one seems to be in between PNF and A: B-Y....... with the hf energy, nice bass and mids and more spatially from left/right, up/down and depth. ( seems to have the best Balance of the 3)

I have to go back to PNF to check but that’s for later it is bedtime.

@PeterSt maybe you make a blue header like in the “massive” thread with the best configurations too date. Or a post 1 index with all the documented configurations that would be even better.👍

Oops, there are quite a number of people using 5ghz wifi in there audio pc for galvanic separation purposes. Not me.
