The Computer Audiophile
Hi Guys - Bluesound devices running BlueOS version 2.1.4 now have access to lossless streaming from Deezer HiFi. I've been using Deezer for a couple months and believe it's much better than Tidal when it comes to selecting music for me with it's Flow feature. Here's the word from Lenbrook / bluesound. "Deezer HiFi is Now Available on All BluOS-Enabled Products For the first time, Deezer HiFi subscribers will be able to enjoy millions of songs in lossless CD-quality at 16-bit FLAC and stream it to any BluOS-enabled wireless speaker, stereo component or home theater for a high-fidelity listening experience." The Computer Audiophile
Deezer originally launched its lossless service called Deezer Elite as an exclusive to Sonos. Now that the exclusive is over, we will start seeing more brands launch integrations. The service has also been renamed Deezer HiFi. As far as I know, the HiFi service only works with hardware integrations right now. More research to be done. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

The Computer Audiophile
This is interesting: Why can’t I download music to my desktop app? This phase of the app is currently in beta, but we’re already working on the next version that includes downloading to your app." Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Based on some quick simple testing the desktop app appears to be bit perfect as well. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

Pretty strong words in your thread title. I don’t have a recommendation. I know many people around here that dislike Tidal and have been waiting for a different lossless solution. This may be it for them. Deezer Flow is pretty cool. szczemirek and schiit 1 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

It mostly another options. Options are good. It has a very different user interface, on the desktop and mobile, from Tidal. Music recommendations have been very good so far with Deezer. The Computer Audiophile
Roon integration usually requires a streaming service with the data and willingness to provide Roon access to the data. If Roon can't get this, the company has been hesitant to integrate a new service. I'd love to see options for lossless streaming in Roon. The Computer Audiophile
Perhaps we should start contacting Deezer to request these features. The company may have no idea what's needed until we tell them. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

How a basic music function like gapless can be overlooked is beyond me. Could be overlooked or could be skipped because it's harder to implement than just having gaps. The Computer Audiophile
Gapless isn't something mainstream companies think about. We'll need to contact Deezer and follow up to make sure this gets in there. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
I’d say Tidal issues have little to do with bandwidth. The size of compressed flac is small compared to other items and the throughput most people are getting. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

Seems there is little more than meets the eye here.l just like the music and the ability /ease of making playlists and have them immediately transfer toA+3 and I️ like MQA. Why dump tidal for something else doesn’t really seem any better and Qobuz is infinitely better than either of them Thats a really good question. The main gripes I hear is that Tidal pushes hip hop and people think Jay Z is a gangster. (Not my gripes) I love Tidal, but its major shortcoming is music recommendations/knowing what I’d like to hear even when I don’t know. Spotify and Deezer excel in these areas. I use Tidal as a lossless library for music I know I want to hear. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Here’s a good example and I came to my inbox as I was typing my previous comment. Spotify uses data, whereas Tidal just provides data to be used. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

If your look at the same sources of news reporting on the current shortage of cash, you'll see the same story every six months or so in addition to the launch press saying Tidal sucked and people can just skip Tidal. That said, because it's a private company we don't know what's really going on. I wish them the best, and their competitors the best, but after a while where there's smoke there's fire. synn 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
