Popular Post austinpop
eClassical just announced lower prices on Naxos label recordings on their website. Here is the email I received below. Dear friends, we have been working with the people at Naxos for a long time and we sure like them a lot. Now we've been talking with them about our prices and after long talks (well...) we have reduced the prices on all our Naxos albums. Prices are down with almost 50%. You can find all their albums here: Naxos albums at eClassical We won't sit still. We make it happen! semente and opus101 1 1 My Audio Setup Link to comment
austinpop
Let's use this thread to identify "cheap" Naxos recordings that you would recommend, either for exceptional SQ, musicality or both. My Audio Setup Link to comment
The Sound Guy
Naxos started as a budget label. I am not sure why they kept their download prices high. Finally their downloads seems reasonably priced. Thanks. Link to comment
semente
The website doesn't seem to have much of what I was going to suggest... Off the top of my head I really like those Tintner's Bruckner recordings that I own; you can buy the whole set in a box: https://www.naxos.com/catalogue/item.asp?item_code=8.501205 I'd also add Delius' Violin Concerto by Tinter/Djokic and Field's Piano Concertos and Nocturnes by Benjamin Frith. Norton
I haven't checked that site or bought Naxos for a very long time, but my recommendations from what is , was, or might now be in Naxos catalogue: Kalinnikov Symphonies Balakirev Symphonies (#1 is a real favourite of mine, the andante is pure OTT romanticism) Myaskovsky Symphonies David Diamond Symphony 2 etc Elgar/Payne Symphony 3 Armstrong Gibbs Symphonies 1 and 3 ( I have in Marco Polo , don't know if now in Naxos catalogue) rando 1 Link to comment
