Weird thing is that the Matrix worked fine with the Aurender for two days, and when connected to the computer (computer--USB--Matrix--HDMI--DAC) it works fine at all sample rates too. 

Does the Aurender display show the name of the connected USB device? You've rebooted it right?

Aurender did a remote session few days ago and fixed the problem! Their team found that the Matrix has “two volume controller interface and one of that was set to 0%.” They reset it back to 100% and everything is working now. They will implement this fix in future Aurender software updates.

I’ve been using the N20 to the Yggdrasil LiM via AES and think it’s fantastic.

I should have my Aurender N20 review written by tomorrow. Will send for fact checking of course, then will publish ASAP. 
 

The combination I’m using right now sounds amazing. Someone may have to shut off my power to get me to stop listening.

Have you tried the delay settings for switching sample rates, just as a test?

Ah, this sounds very similar to an issue I had with a McIntosh DAC. It even had the issue with other apps. 
 

I discovered the issue playing John Mellencamp’s song Pink Houses. The guitar starts right at the beginning. The Mc DAC just couldn’t get ready in time. 
 

Just relaying my experience. Not saying this is what’s going on with you.

I did start a support ticket, but it never was solved. So with the A10 it for sure isn't a DAC sync issue, as I use the internal DAC of the A10.

Furthermore I play from the internal disk, no NAS.

 

 

That's good information. All internal and still see they issue.

Most products only support DoP over USB. Some support it on all inputs, but that's rare.

If you have the QX-5 Twenty it should work.

Also, what’s the length of the AES cable? What exact cable is it (brand model etc…)?

 

Ive had super expensive cables not work and cheap ones work perfect, and vice versa.

If there is any issue with AES cable, at least optical cable should work. Actually i have tried one Audioquest optical cable and one normal PC optical cable, same result. 

Agreed. 
 

The AQ cable is solid.
 

Some other exotic cables don’t pass the specifications or are so heavy the light for optical won’t align.

Just to make sure we stick with the standard definitions. 

 

Bit Depth or Word Length is commonly 16 or 24 bits. 

 

Bit rate is is calculated from sample rate, bit depth and channel count. 

 

44.100 x 16 x 2 = 1411 bit rate

I just have to post (again) to say how much I enjoy using the Aurender Conductor app on my Mac Mini (M1) Apple Pro Display XDR.

 

I'm currently sending audio from an N20 to my Merging Anubis via Ravenna on my desktop, that connects to Schiit Vidar monoblocks, and on to Wilson Audio TuneTots. It's glorious.

Hi @AriMargolis, when using an Aurender server with Ravenna output, which I love by the way, are the volume up/down and mute supposed to work?

Not totally. I have albums with the local jpg used as album art.
