Looks very nice. Larry is constantly fine tuning his products. As I’ve grown in the hobby his accessories have really helped out at times.

Loos like a new HDplex 200 w would be coming out very soon, based on their website

In February this year, I had asked Larry of HDPLEX whether they have any new products development with application of the hot item LT3045 at that time. To my surprise, he didn't aware of this widely-discussed high quality voltage regulator. After getting the information, he told me that they would start development of the related products. Earlier this month, he told me that his engineer was working on the adjustment to achieve the best results. It seems that they are about to complete some new products soon.

BTW, Larry & HDPlex have great warranty & customer care. I had an issue with my two year-old 100W LPS, which he's kindly replacing. Larry was quick & responsive on email and sent me prepaid shipping labels to return my unit. Replacement is coming next week.

Absolutely the best kind of customer service!

Cheers,

muski

P.S. And yes, I miss my HDPlex LPS—my Mytek Brooklyn just doesn't sound the same without it!

FYI, after discovering that the blue LED stopped working on the front faceplate of my 100W v2, I got the following response from Larry on 2019-05-20:

Please kindly unplug this LED from the main board. It is a 2PIN plug. We discovered this LED might affect the performance of the linear PSU since it is fetching 5V from the 5v rail.

Well this is interesting. I don't suppose he expanded on the extent of any performance effect? You have to wonder why he hasn't made this public knowledge if it is in fact an issue? Is it only an issue if you are using the 5V output?

I'm skeptical on how much difference a tiny LED will make.

Modern good quality LEDs are not noisy, draw very little current , especially most Blue LEDs which can be run at very low currents, and are often used as Low Noise Voltage references.. However a long pair of leads connecting the LED to the +5V rail may be picking up RF/EMI.

How a Digital Audio file sounds, or a Digital Video file looks, is governed to a large extent by the Power Supply area. All that Identical Checksums gives is the possibility of REGENERATING the file to close to that of the original file.
