Am using the new Mac Pro desktop and the latest El Capitan with iTunes 12.3.2.25 and discovered three days ago that a folder i have been putting recorded music, from an online site, into for the past 5 years, organized by year, month, etc, is now empty except for the index. Five years of music gone! This music was NOT in iTunes in any manner nor did i intend it to be as it needed much editing. How could that have happened? Using the title from the index i searched the iTunes library but it does not appear to be there ... where would i look for this music? How do i keep this from happening in the future as i continue to record music? All help appreciated.

What is a good approach to listening to DSD files (.dsf mainly) with a Chord DAVE? Edited: (my error in setting things up).

Hi, I have a used Aries on the way to me. I have been studying the Auralic documentation. For music storage, it keeps referring to NAS, but not a PC as a host. I have my FLAC files on an internal drive on my Windows 10 PC. I have set that up to share. Can I access those files from the Aries? I also can move the files to a USB hard drive on the PC if necessary. The Auralic documentation goes back and forth whether I need server software somewhere beyond the lightning server on the Aries. Thanks, Jerry

i have a file permission problem with a cloned N10. My friend has done the initial install and cloned his N100 to my N10. I can play the music he put on my N10 but cant add to the folders. i am using my own password and can create folders outside of the folders already created. I am running windows 10 and created a share but I cant add files or change folder permissions.

JRiver shows duplicate files, which come back when I delete them. Some guidance would be much appreciated. My setup: Synology NAS running Minim server. Controlled by Plugplayer. Rendered by Audio Research Reference DAC. I use Jriver to manage/sort/tag the music files (mostly WAV). In Jriver under filename I get: Volumes/Music/[Artist]/[Album]/[Trackname] But the same file also shows up as: http://[lan NAS address]:[port]/minimserver/*/Music/[Artist]/[Album]/[Trackname] This happens throughout the library. If I delete all http://etc files they automatically are recreated (not at once, but over time). Any ideas what may be causing this issue? Thank you.
