  1. A Auralic Aries LE issue would like to know if I am alone to have it ... When I change or pause song Streaming Qobuz , My DAC is losing connection with streamer which is create an unlock in my DAC ( Marantz SA14 ) and activate amplifier switching relay ... i don't believe the the relays on Marantz PM 14 are designed to be open close continuously . i asked Auralic Xuanqian Wang who nicely replied to my question and It is not possible for software reason to like open an empty file with white noise while pausing or changing tracks in order to not lose connection with DAC. I will ask Marantz for the PM relays but it is quiet sad to realize that afterward ... my Chromecast even gapless was not triggered the amplifier relays when stoped . thanks for help.
  2. Hello, I'm considering two Roon/Tidal setups: 1. C.A.P.S Pipeline, as headless Roon core/output, Ipad controlled. Linux (Roon recommendation) or Win (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) or 2. Small PC as Roon core (e.g. Mac mini, Intel NUC) + Auralic Aries as Roon output, Ipad controlled. As I currently see it: Pro 1. Versatility, easier to repair in case of hardware failure, hardware upgradable, can be reused for other PC duties if replaced, one unit, can use HQPlayer (if I ever find out what to use this for) . 2. Optimized hardware, optimized software (upgradeable firmware), no unnecessary (noisy) hardware, has a remote for basic operations (e.g. skipping songs). Con 1. OS hassle/maintenance, not optimized entirely for hifi. 2. If hardware fails it is probably a complete unit loss, not exactly pretty, two units. If you have any comments/recommendations, I would appreciate them. What would you do? Martin
  3. Auralic Taurus MKII Balanced Headphone Amp(Sale Price $1329, reg retail $1899) SALE - SAVE $480 on the $1899 Retail Price From Now Until January 31st Begins from the pursuit of an extraordinary amplifier that can well match with modern top quality headphones, inspired by the soul of Rupert Neve's legendary design philosophy, bearing with modern simplism style appearance, TAURUS MKII is born with a perfect coalescence of classic and pop elements. The smooth, rich and detailed voice of TAURUS MKII is a succession of AURALiC’s elegant and graceful aesthetic taste. Referring to Neve analog console’s circuit design, AURALiC invent the ORFEO Class-A output module and fit them into TAURUS MKII. The ORFEO module offers great driving ability by delivers 1000mW (600ohm) to 4500mW (32ohm) power into various loads; this allows TAURUS MKII to squeeze out every headphone’s capabilities, unfold the beauty of their unique sonic style. Resorting to the ultra low noise input buffer tailored by AURALiC, TAURUS MKII has a wide dynamic range greater than 130dB while maintains the output noise less than 5uV. With such astonishing performance, TAURUS is able to capture the most tiny music expression coming from the source component. The TAURUS MKII builds on the design of the original award-winning TAURUS, launched in 2010, by concentrating all surface-mounted components in an audio signal patch. It also increased the TAURUS’ EMI shielding, reducing noise from the input buffer to 0.8uV, less than half the level of the original. Additionally, AURALiC improved the input switch circuit to increase the isolation among different input channels, which boosts performance when the TAURUS MKII is connected to multiple sources. Smoothed music expression, sophisticated circuit design and brilliant appearance; TAURUS MKII is another exemplary works designed by AURALiC. 4. This week I installed iOS 10.1 on my iPhone and iPad. Call me an idiot, but when firmware upgrades present itself, I'm always hitting the install button. This morning I want to start listening on my Auralic Aries from an Apple Music from my iPad, using AirPlay, and somehow the Aries doesn't appear anymore on my iPad as AirPlay playback device. Checking the same on my iPhone, and also there, the Aries is not appearing. Could it be that iOS 10.1 again changed something in the Airplay implementation, causing the Aries not to be compatible anymore? Does anyone else have this problem? Firmware installed on my Aries is also the latest one, version 4.0 I believe.
  5. Hi, I have a used Aries on the way to me. I have been studying the Auralic documentation. For music storage, it keeps referring to NAS, but not a PC as a host. I have my FLAC files on an internal drive on my Windows 10 PC. I have set that up to share. Can I access those files from the Aries? I also can move the files to a USB hard drive on the PC if necessary. The Auralic documentation goes back and forth whether I need server software somewhere beyond the lightning server on the Aries. 8. SBOOSTER "BEST OF TWO WORLDS" AUDIOPHILE POWER SUPPLY (BOTW P&P ECO) The Sbooster “Best of Two Worlds Power & Precision ECO” audio upgrade (BOTW P&P ECO) is the successor of SBooster's “Best of Two Worlds Solutions” audio upgrade (BOTWS). This new upgrade product combines power, precision and efficiency in an unique innovative manner that purifies the incoming current immediately upon entering the device. A dual stage mains filter and an earth line choke clean the current from high frequency pollution before the current reaches the transformer. The transformer is a custom-made audio grade transformer with electrostatic shielding. The electronic design allows for up to 50% more output out of the used electronics and consumes even up to 35% less energy than a conventional design. Even though it provides a significant boost in available power, the BOTW P&P ECO audiophile power supply is so efficient that it consumers only a fraction more of electricity than what a standard power does. ULTRA ACCESSORY The Sbooster Ultra Filter Accessory can be used as an addition to the many filtering and optimization techniques of the BOTW P&P ECO audiophile PSU and can only be used with the SBooster split-current module of the BOTW P&P ECO. The Ultra is based on active filter technique, which reduces the ripple & noise of the BOTW P&P ECO even further: to a negligible low level. The Ultra is designed for audio equipment that is highly sensitive to residual noise, such as digital to analog converters, music streamers, USB to SPDIF converters, headphone-, pre- and phono amplifiers. In addition to the active filter function, the Sbooster Ultra also re-stabilizes the output voltage to the correct voltage and because of the short cable length of the Sbooster Ultra, the highly purified powered is passed to your audio device with no performance loss . Main benefits of BOTW and Ultra Filter Accessory: Up to 50% more power to your amplification components Lower noise floor and blacker backgrounds to your digital components Improved musical rhythm and timing These products qualify for Free Shipping and 5% back in points when you register for Club Ciamara Membership Rewards Program 1.844.CIAMARA (1.844.242.6272) High End Audio Store NYC - Experience Ciamara
  9. Hello All! I stumbled across this extremely helpful forum as I starting exploring how to put together a new stereo system for my home. I've been able to find a lot of answers by exploring though the posts here, but Id love to get some feedback about the system I'm putting together. If you don't count the 2.1 bose setup I purchased 13 years ago, this will be my first system. Here's the situation: I've got a budget of up to $4,000. I listen to mostly digital files, and recently started upgrading my library of 500 or so albums to all FLAC. I'd like to be able to wirelessly control the music system from either my MBP (OSX 10.10) or an ipad. I listen to a lot of types of music, but chief among them are classical, jazz and electronic. Space is very limited in my living situation, and I need to buy components that are as small as possible (especially the speakers). There's a good chance I'll be moving from the US to Spain in a few years, so I'd like the system to be reasonably transportable. Here's what I'm thinking of buying: iPad → Roon with Tidal Hi-Fi → Auralic Aries mini w/ 1TB SSD → Peachtree Nova 125SE → Anthony Gallo A’Diva SE 2.1 with TR-1D sub. This comes to arox. $4k. I realize that both the Peachtree Nova and Aries mini have DACs, but I suppose I'll just try each one and see which sounds better. Alternatively, I've considered using the Decware Zen SE84UFO with Blumenstein Orca Deluxe 2.1. My concern is that the speakers are still fairly large compared to the A'Diva's, so I'd only change if the sound quality is markedly better. Thoughts? Better devices to pair? Better values to be had? Anyway around it this will be a huge upgrade and I'm excited for the change. Thanks for the input!
  10. Hello everybody! Recently I bought the US unit but as far as I live in the 220v country I need to convert the unit to the correct voltage. Is there anyone who has done this before? Could you please help me here? I have an experience converting the Aries if needed so I can guide anyone. An Auralic's support turned on the 'Robot mode' repeating that there is no user-servisable parts in their product...

  14. I have an Ayre KX-5 Preamp and now also an Auralic Aries. I experience some interference problem between the Ayre remote and the Aries remote: the on/off button (red, top left) on the Aries remote apparently sends also a "stand by/operate" command to the Ayre preamp. Is there anyone else, who has also an Ayre preamp and the Aries and who has or has not the same issue?
  15. We are running the Auralic Aries on a wireless connection (on a dynamic address with Comcast). Initially we were able to listen wirelessly to our music library (AIFF files) running off a NAS server without the music stuttering. Now after a few months, and some updates to our music library, about 30 or so seconds into a song, it stutters/skips and continues to stutter. Radio works fine. We've ran a CAT6 cable with no stuttering. BUT, and here is the big BUT, the music sounds so much warmer, welcoming, interesting with a wireless connection (using a MAC6700 by McIntosh with Rockport Atria speakers). Anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this. We are waiting for support from Auralic and hope to hear back but in the meantime this is killing me.
  16. Can anyone explain this to me? :-) I've got my music stored on a NAS and I'm using the BlueSound app to control my BlueSound Node - this works perfect. It loads the library with all the information - cover art, artist, track titles, etc. I am though considering upgrading to an Auralic Aries streamer to improve the sound quality, so I tried downloading the Lightning DS app, but when I choose my NAS it doesn't index all the music properly. Most of the music is just marked "unknown" and isn't organised at all - see the pictures. Does anyone know how to solve this?

AURALiC Tesla Platform
ARIES is powered by AURALiC's proprietary Tesla hardware platform that includes a Quad-Core ARM Coretex-A9 processor running at 1GHz, 1GB DDR3 onboard memory and 4GB internal storage. The Tesla platform has a calculation ability of 25,000 MIPS, more than enough to decode a vast spectrum of audio formats, including AAC, AIFF, ALAC, APE, DIFF, DSF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WAV, WV and WMA. AURALiC has chose this platform for a long term supporting consideration, the feature planned include DSD upsampling, room acoustic treatment and other acoustic DSP function.

Gapless, Multiple Room Solution
By using OpenHome structure which is adopted by U.K-based streaming solution manufacturer Linn, ARIES as well as all other Lightning based products support several advanced functions such as on-device playlist that allow control software to turn off during play and complete supporting of multi-room, multiple control points — functions that are not part of the legacy standards of the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA).

 Dual Femto Clock*
The ARIES with two individual Femto clocks for both USB audio host and digital outputs: the clock used for digital outputs are in charge of generate master clock of digital signal to ensure lowest jitter performance for all digital outputs. Accordingly to our measurement, the USB controller's master clock can also effect sound quality as it effect USB interrupt timing when joint use with real time system, to maximum sound quality, ARIES also equipped with another Femto clock for USB controller.

 Low Noise Linear PSU*
Excepting for low noise internal power supply design, ARIES also comes with an external low noise linear power supply unit. This PSU is based on AURALiC Purer‐Power™ technology with advanced AC filter and very low noise circuit design. The actual measurement shows only 10uV cross 20Hz-20KHz range.
