Hello...this is my first question ever. I just purchased a Mytek Brooklyn DAC+. i have ONLY connected it via USB through the laptop to the dac and played tidal and listened to MQA. Now for the queston...can someone please explain the other connects on the back? what is the wick in wick out? what would i connect via a 75 ohm coaxel cable? and where would i inout the coaxil into my AV receiver..i have the marantz sr7010. Im very confused and i think i spent a lot for not being able to utilize it the way i know its capable of. And also maybe someone could explain the xlr connects....and if you answer, please be prepared to carry on a dialogue for a few days while i work this out. I'm very frustrated and i would appreciate HELP!!!!! Thanks In advance...Stickyfi PS...Im very curious as to what wick in wick out means

I'm a new beginner at this, but usually a quick lerner. I'm thinking about trying to build a music server. At the moment I'm just looking for possible (high resolution compatible) hardware. If I start a build, it is important that the music server will have either 'S/PIDF coaxial out' or 'AES/EBU (AES3?) XLR out'. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction for hardware with 'S/PDIF coaxial out' or 'AES/EBU XLR out'? Or is there a really good reason why most people build music server with USB out? If software is the problem, I think I might have that covered. I just got a friend who is a programing wizard interested in high resolution digital audio. So if there is hardware with 'digital coaxial out' or 'digital XLR out' that could be usable with some coding, that might be even better. Thanks /Filip

My issues is as follows. The data is leaving the source via USB, being converted to SPDIF by a M2Tech Hiface2, and going from the Hiface to the processor via coax (with a powered USB hub to help out the Hiface). The total distance is 10 feet and, given the constraints associated with my se-up (seagate wireless plus to ipad mini to apple CCK to USB in an automobile with trunk mounted processor), one cable is going to be about 9 feet and the other cable is going to be about 1 foot. Question: Assuming that good quality cables will be used, am I better off with a long coax cable or a long USB cable? Thanks.

Hello all! I'm new in the world of RB Pi DAC's and I'm looking now to buy an Allo Boss 1.2 for my RB Pi 3 B+. But my final objective is that the Allo Boss 1.2 will not be only the DAC for the contents passed by the RB Pi, but also that the DAC could receive HD digital signals (24/192 minimum) from external sources (an external PC for example) via SPDIF Toslink and/or coaxial. So, could you recommend me any other board that can provide to the Allo Boss 1.2 the Toslink/coaxial inputs it doesn't have? The ideal would be a card that can be stacked with the Boss using, ideally, the GPIO, without need to solder anything (I'm not a solder expert :-). Also, if the approrpiate board exiss, I'm worried about the drivers to manage the combination, given I'm using Raspbian with JRiver Media Center 25 as content manager. Thanks for your help and support. Best, Manuel.

The Absolute Sound Editor's Choice Reference Monitor excellent condition in high gloss black. Only 25 hours on it. I bought them 3 weeks ago and just now got an offer to pay the deposit for the custom speakers of my dream. It will take a long time 3x the price of the Audience The One. My impressions of these speakers in nearfield with Teac 502 DAC and DSD material are just 9 of 10 and I mean it, fantastic soundstage, excellent instrument separation, precise and accurate but non-fatiguing, you can listen for hours to them on the desktop. New these speakers are $1070 with stands. I am selling these speakers at the very heavy discount. I will include Audience OEM $75 angled stands for free. Buy with confidence, see my Audiogon, eBay and US AudioMart perfect ratings. Buyer pays actual charges for PayPal and insured double boxed FedEx shipping.
