Yes! We all have read about these percentages, and what they "should" be, and we all have our own experience with them. The more systems I hear and own, the more I learn that for myself, the percentages are meaningless. They also get thrown out of whack when components are upgraded at different times. I remember a system I had in middle school. $32/ea. Kenwood speakers and Technics receiver and CD player. Huge distortion at high volumes. A cousin told me I needed better speakers (a greater percentage spent on speakers). In the long run, I was able to test a different, much more powerful and better designed, receiver from Yamaha. It made those inexpensive Kenwood speakers sing! Pushed them hard and made the room smell like the MDF of which they were made :~) Audiophile Neuroscience, PeterG and botrytis 3 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

A long gone consumer electronics store. I’m sure chip board was holding these together :~) botrytis 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
