Euphony 4 vs 3 Issue

Recommended Posts

I've been running version 3 for 2 years, no problem on a mini PC (Lenovo MQ10). Last week I installed version 4 on a NUC I put in a AKASA case.  NUC 7i5BNK 2.2GHz processor. Euphony installed on a Crucial 500gb NVME drive and 8GB RAM installed. The sound through my Border Patrol DAC and tube system is absolutely beautiful. However, buffering album or small playlists to RAM is much slower and if I use software volume control it's response is slower as well comparing both to V3. I would assume it's a hardware issue but my processor and RAM should be plenty adequate. All of my WAV files (less than 80GB currently) are on the data/music partition og the 500gb internal drive. Any thoughts?

I would have posted in the large Euphony thread but it is so convoluted with often 5 or 6 topics being discussed on the same page.

The response from Euphony support was typical. " under what conditions do you experience this? Buffering is dependent on network hardware and drive."

I originally explained that it was under any and all conditions and my music files are stored on the internal NVME Euphony drive. Oh well
