In France, the term HP (Haut-Parleur) will soon be used for Heat Pump

Today I found interesting news in my timeline:
"French startup uses Hi-Fi speakers to develop eco-friendly heat pumps"

 

In short, the AHP (Acoustic Heat punp) promotes a solution based on thermoacoustics with similar efficiency to conventional systems, but 50% lower CO² impact and 20% lower energy consumption plus a lifespan of 30 years.

 

Even this is a very serious topic, I'll invite you to leave comments about PuRiFi, Class D, Linear power supplies, Beryillium tweeters and such.

Personally I will follow the company, called Equium, because I find this out-of-the-box approach quite interesting ;-)

When my wife and I first got married, our 1st apartment was also brand new. It used a heat pump for each apartment and that was in a Chicago suburb. It can be done but getting it well constructed is big and hard to do.

Mobile phones? Not back then :D There were still pay phones and phone booths around :D

In fact, and on a more serious note, the stakeholders in Equium are a bunch of serious qualified people.
However, recalling the Desertec desaster gives us a certain idea how French energy giant support innovation that doesn't fit their business interest.

I say, annoyance has gotten smaller. Now people expect constant connection. Sometimes it is nice not to be shackled down.

I would think in the UK they are less tecnique,

hp = Horse Power

Or Harry Potter = HP
