Wow guys, Alan's email, website and facebook page are all gone! He just vanished. I've bought a couple of his circuit breaker filters, and was one who bought some of his music on the USB stick. I didn't know about copyright anything, I just saw some great music in a hi res format and had to try a few. They sound very good too btw.

 

Well, I hope him the best as I found his CBF's quite effective. Too bad about this music business aspect that apparently caused him to shut down.

I thought I'd be a bit more serious and give Alan a shout out. I really like his work and his products. I have a big no-comment about the music thing, but his power products were unconventional in the best possible way. Pity if this all causes him any serious difficulty and I wish him nothing but the best.

Leaving the obvious issue of legality aside, what makes(made) these files so special then? BY his own admission they're upsampled from EAC ripped 16-bit CDs.

 

Is/was he remastering them to sound a little better - glorified use of EQ as well as upsampling in other words?

There is a whole world between "remastering" and some guy at home using his computer algorithms on files ripped from a CD.

 

This is more like master baiting.
