The Computer Audiophile
I just downloaded a Dave Matthews album from his website and it was listed as FLAC, 15K. The other options are CD, 16 bit, and MP3, 320 kbps. I must admit to never hearing of FLAC 15K. Surely this is just an "intern" having no clue what it means and entering it into a field. Turns out this album is 24 bit / 48 kHz with a variable bit rate. https://davematthewsband.shop.musictoday.com/product/DMDD141/dave-matthews-live-at-sweet-briar-college?cp=1_5575_8881 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

The old topic's posts only suggests some answers. How about it actually being the rather pointless exercise of totalling the (variable) bitrates of the individual FLAC tracks, but forgetting to divide by total number of them in the album in order to get the average bitrate? 😀 The Computer Audiophile 1 We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. -- Jo Cox Link to comment
