Finisar SFP+ Modules for Audio Grade Network Switch (Group Buy for Audiophilestyle.com)

The Finisar SFP+ FTLX1475D3BTL works fine in opticalModule. 
I now have two modules added between my opticalRendu and EtherRegen. 
 

Inserting it into the $99 Mikrotik switch didn’t work very well. I can’t find a way to force it into 1 Gb.

The opticalModule now uses the FTLX1475D3BTL, and Mikrotik using the 1421. That’s working.

I have read in another thread that the  FTLF1321 has the lowest jitter measurement of any Finisar module.  Much lower than the 3018 or 3024 but I do not know how it would compare to the 1475.

 

 

Because the 1475 is a 10GB module, it has by definition or specification an extremely low to none jitter.

Also I think if you read the data sheet I posted several places, you will find the best jitter specs on the 1421 modules.

Use yellow cable with blue connectors. (That’s single mode). 
 

But start with reading the compatibility list of your Ubiquiti router.

I’m using this module with EtherRegen. But be aware that this is a 10GB module. So it won’t work against EtherRegen or similar if you add the module into a 10GB switch. Like the Mikrotik. So a 10GB switch need a 1 GB module, and then a 10GB module is ok in the other end. 
 

 Also you shouldn’t turn your EtherRegen on and off frequently. Just leave it on. 
 

If I reboot my Mikrotik switch, I also need to reboot other network components.

Probably by testing with other fiber cables and/or SFP modules. 
No need to remove other RJ45 cables.

That won’t work unless you force SOtM into 1GB, or put a 1GB SFP into the SOtM.

It doesn’t look like the Silent Angel N8 has SFP interface. If you’re asking if you can use that cable between the two devices. 
 

But the FMC added, will do the trick. So will an opticalModule, which is a much better FMC.

Good question. I can’t answer 100%, but normally if one Finisar work, I would expect most of the others do as well. I tested my Finisar in a managed Cisco, and no problem. SG300-20.
