just replaced the DigiOne (non signature) in my secondary system with a USBridge Sig and... the latter is *much* better

both powered by an HD-Plex LPS, though. but I guess the very same applies when powering both from an SMPS

read, on Roon forum, someone stating he sold his Aurender (... N100, I believe) after getting the USBridge Sig

personally... I have it in my secondary system and I'm pretty scared of trying it in my main system too (where a Lumin U1 Mini is)

 

can add, though, that... tried it as standalone streamer, with both Volumio and Moode, and found it to be nowhere close to when using it as Roon endpoint with RoPieee

about how much of an improvement the Sig makes... hard to tell: this kind of upgrades is always about subtleties. but those subtleties that in the end...

Roon/USBridge Sig/RoPieee here plays DSD256 without the faintest glitch

 

I know it doesn't help... unless you're willing to give RoPieee a try

ok, so... just tried installing GentooPlayer on my USBridge Sig (using it as Roon endpoint)

wired ethernet connection

first time install, all default settings apart "Select DAC/USB DAC"

enabled RoonBridge

disabled HDMI, WiFi and HotSpot

 

DAC is a Chord Qutest

not the slightest glitch playing DSDs (DoP as Roon doesn't offer "native" for the Qutest) up to 256

finally resolved, today, grounding my USBridge Sig to the Shanti LPS and Shanti to an AC iPurifier

 

really impressed by the difference it made 
(despite being extremely skeptical about these things)
