That isn't new, it's been around a long time. I don't remember where, but I did see a review once where they had measurements that showed less noise on the line when these were plugged in. Don't remember any of the details, I'm sure you could find it if you are interested.

He writes a monthly column in the PS Audio magazine (not about audio). So apparently he is fine.

Makes me wonder like some other outfits if his wasn't just a story and some attitude to pitch an okay product as something special.  If your big pitch is that Music Hall designer Roy Hall is a straight shooter no-nonsense kind of guy this product is anything other than straight shooting. 

I don't see any fraud here. He buys a module and puts it in a different case for rebranding. Happens all the time in all industries. Including things like whole car engines. In home appliances it is common. Find a name brand appliance from Europe or the USA and then go online and find the same item with a no-name branding for much less. They are all made in the same Chinese factory.

There are no special claims made for the device on the website. Where's the fraud?
 

You may not like it, but he's charging a price that works for him and his company, their overhead  in the market.

Now I've a couple microphones that are similar to this product.  Chinese, lots of companies put their name on them.  One company says it does additional quality checks and does change a few components.  Also unlike some of the other companies they are very transparent about what they are doing.  Some others sell the same mike for a little less, some sell it for more.  I was not bothered by that because they were very straightforward about it all.  I knew what I was getting.  So I don't feel like I need to keep a super close eye on them about pulling a fast one.

I wouldn't think they owe me $29, I'd think I'm not the smartest consumer and they aren't the most transparent company. And yes, I'd probably double check after that anything before I buy from them.
It's doubly curious, because they sell other items under the Bellari brand that are also made by Rolls and don't rebrand them. Maybe they felt somehow it was vital to have a low cost phono preamp in their lineup.

The saddest thing about fraud, corruption, dictatorship, audio cover-ups, ...is that they have supporters from hell. It's in hell that the fight should take place, not on Earth with people suffering from Venezuela.  They didn't do anything to deserve paying more for what costs less next door. ...Music Hall is @ fault here, they play with people's extreme patience, and they think they can get away because of the laws...electronics, patents, ...

 

Here's what they forgot; Audiophile Style are not a bunch of imbecile people.

We'll expose them and we'll run them out of business permanently. 

We'll go after the names behind the fraudulent product, no matter the cost. 

$30 or $300 or $3 billion. 

 

Thx to the people who first find out on this sordid state of audio faudulence. 

Music Hall is no better than Maduro, to make a simple comparison. 

Really? Music Hall is selling one small product at a high markup and that's your reaction?

And they aren't going to be "exposed" and run out of business. I'm sure most of their customers don't frequent this site. Beyond that, the worst that will happen to them is they won't sell any more of those preamps and they wil get a few questions about the provenance of other products.
