CD player and DAC compatibility

I have a Sim Audio Moon Nova CD player that I am trying to connect to a DAC. However, neither the XLR-based AES/EBU and BNC-based S/PDIF works with my two DACs - a Bricasti Design M1 and a Auralic Vega. I have had the CD player checked and there is nothing wrong with it. Both DACs accept a signal from the S/PDIF output of my OPPO. Any suggestions as to how to solve this issue?

Does your CD player have an option to disable digital output?

If the CD player’s output is working and both DACs don’t play either, then the only issue is the cable.

simplest and cheapest is the SE bnc output with any RG6 TV feeder cable with the adapter connector. 5m max length. The output should be is 44.1 so unless it’s 384 or something silly?

Thanks for logical responses. My player does not have a digital disable option. Mute is not selected on the Bricasti. And the cable works from other sources. So I am afraid I still don't have a good solution.

Sounds like there’s a bad connection from your Sim Audio circuit board to the digital output. Maybe open it up and check the board headers - unplug and plug everything. 

 

Mechanical connections are the first thing to check.
