Yes, the Allo is short with RAM. But it has many advantages over a RBi4.

I'm considering, though, buying a RBi4 in order to use it with an IAS module for output to my DAC.

the other way to recover ram is to use a mode without WebInterface, of course you have to enable ssh first, otherwise you no longer access the system ... then if necessary disable the ramsytem from the shell with ramsystem_disable and the WI is back online.
It is not the WI that occupies ram but python that it needs....

Thank you for the instructions.

I can not apply them yet, because I don't know how to use Ssh on a Mac.

Actually, after removing the unwanted software, and disabling all the players except "Squeezelite R2", UpMpdCli", and "Room Bridge", I still get the not enough RAM message when I try to set the Ramsystem to Mode 4.

I guess that with the Allo, I should stay at Ramsystem Mode 2.

Thanks. The Firmware Update did finish after choosing the standard profile as seen below.

Not sure if the "lspci not found" etc. warning is a problem or not.

firmware is already updated

Yes, it is a problem...
I updated the ebuild so that it would take pciutils.... as a dependency.
and that's what it did on my system....

try again and if it does not work and do it manually

emerge --ask sys-apps/pciutils

/etc/init.d/rpi4-eeprom-updater start

rc-update del rpi4-eeprom-updater default

After another gp-update the output was as under (1) below.

So I did it manually and after the 2nd command everything looks fine, see (2).

The 3rd command however gave an error, see (3).

That would be an interesting option.

Is it possible, by using mocp and ssh only, to start music, shut down the network and reactivate it after play (like with Play2Dir from the WI)?

happy new year to all!!!

@antonellocaroli for applying eq to headphones with rpi3b+ do you suggest camilladsp or another option (alsa eq / eqfa12p) even though not as sophisticated?

Can I load convolution filters for my headphones ?

Thanks!!

I installed CamillaDSP & GUI but I can’t see the menu in the web interface.

I can see the config gui in gp-ip:50007

How can I access and load oratory settings for my headphones?

thnx!!

yes, that's where you configure camilla...

-in files you create your configuration file
-configure devices
-upload your headset files in files>filters
-create filters in the filters tab
-configure pipelines
-set the player to use camilladsd (on the sound card)

I think that something is not OK with the Devices tab

I have done the above steps but when I choose CamillaDSP for outpun of the Squeezelite it does not work.

What should be the "Capture device/File name" ?

The Sample Format is OK

Also the sample rate at the top of the page should be the maximum of the device is capable?

Yes, you must configure the devices as shown in the example

image.png.990935ed715db86b55c290e5dcab7209.png

clearly you have to change the sampleformat according to what your audio output supports, see it in system info...

image.thumb.png.2eadec05379c38ff036b34c9e816390f.png

and also change the playback device to match your playback device (ex.hw:0, hw:1 etc).

----

and since you use custom headphone filters, the input files must have the same resolution as the filters, if the filters, for example, were produced at 96000hz the input files must have the same resolution...
so at that point you have to resample the files in the player, for example in squeezelite or mpd.

squeezelite (resample 96000) > Camilla dsp (filters) > playback

I don't know if applying the resample in camilladsp instead of in the player gives the same result, we need to understand if camilladsp applies the resample before applying the filters...

thanks a lot ... I will experiment and report back

For sure I must see that the sample rates are the same. I didn't before!

In the "filename" field before I change it to "/dev/stdin" as I saw in your screenshots there was something else by default.
Unfortunately I didn't note what.

Is there any chance that the "filename" needs something else?

another one.. the filters are for individual channels?

so I must make one filter for channel 0 and one for channel 1 and also load them to Pipeline too?

yes, or create two filters one for channel0 and the other for channel1 and use the same file for both...but generally the two channels use different filters....but I´m not an expert...

that's what I did

I see the player playing (it does not crash as before) but still no sound

In the CamillaDSP GUI it shows "State": Offline

I will search on line a bit ... may be the file I use is not suitable for CamillaDSP?

It works on Linux Mint with Pipewire and EasyEffects
Here is the source

probably something wrong with the device configuration...

maybe if you post the systeminfo and some sceenshots of the configuration you make...

have you tried to see if it works without the filters?
