Good Class D amps ??

Which are the best Class D amps?

 

Has anyone compared them with other designs, Class A or AB, etc.?

I wonder if a $500 Class D would give that quality you mention...

BTW, Class D is of interest as it saves electricity (tho my electricity is carbon-safe -- not salmon safe tho); there is also the question of how much is really used by a power amp, which is likely played only a 3 hours each night...

PS Audio HCA-2 Solid State Digital Switching Two-Channel Power Amplifier is/was  ~~ $1,700 with > 200 W into 4 ohms...  reviews seem to date from 2002-2006

 

used they go for about $600 -  I wonder how they compare to designs today??
