indirstr8s
I see that amarra suggests to disable journaling on the HD. Even the apple site suggests the same in scenarios when performance is critical. The problem is I do not see a way of disabling journaling on my HD without re-patrtioning the HD and erasing all the data in the process. Does anybody know of a way disabling journaling without having to start from re-partioning the HD. The Computer Audiophile
I don't think this is possible. In fact I don't think the OS can be installed on a non-journaled HDD. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
jon
I've recently done this. The free utility onyx has a box to tick if you wish to disable journaling. Its under system info -disk. Link to comment
indirstr8s
Jon, Thanks. I tried onyx and it works. I disabled the journaling on my internal 1 TB drive (dual HD) on which my OS and music resided. I think it might be making a difference to the sound too. sukmano
using disk utility, select the desired partition and while pressing the option key click on FILE at the top and you should see a disable journaling option Link to comment
jonmarsh
Probably the "last" thing to do once everything is setup and installed and ready for playback. Then I'd re-enable it when doing any major changes in programs or configuration. Link to comment
Scarlet
The key post is a fantastic idea: it keeps your mens watches keys in one place all the time. This is simply great news as anyone will tell you that finding your keys in your handbag is THE most time consuming thing ever. The Purseket’s designer handbags key post keeps your keys right where you left them all replica watches the time so you can immediately get them! The pouches are sewn with gussets so they’ll fit large (and small, of course) things. Some other handbag gucci handbags organizer inserts that don’t have gusseted pouches, your bigger things wont fit in the pockets omega which kind of makes them useless. And there’s a lot of pouches too. I was able to stuff about 70 items in my Purseket. That’s prada quite a lot of things! One of the great things about having a Purseket is that it helps you to swap out your handbags in an instant. I like accessorizing my handbag with my outfit and previously this has been a drag. Now all I need to do is put my stuff into the Purseket Purse Organizer Insert and I prada handbags simply place it in whichever purse I want to take with me. When I’m fed up of that particular bag, I just lift out the purse omega watches organizer from Purseket (contents and all) and place it into the purse I feel like using next. Link to comment
wgscott
For an external drive, sudo diskutil disableJournal /Volumes/Music Substitute whatever your external drive is. For the root drive, sudo diskutil disableJournal / I wouldn't do it for the root drive. (I wouldn't do it for the external drive, but I guess if it leads to an improvement you can hear, then go for it). Link to comment
