musickid
why does the tidal site stipulate using versions 38/39 of chrome for it to work. i downloaded tidal desktop no problems and i am using the latest chrome version 53 or 54 i think. finally why is the use of chrome so important. is it just for the process of downloading their application as surely tidal desktop is independent of any browser once installed? many thanks to all it also seems impossible to find anywhere to download chrome 38/39.talking about hifi lossless of course. rodrigaj
I'm running chrome v 53 and Tidal works perfectly. Tidal probably meant "38/39 or higher". "The function of music is to release us from the tyranny of conscious thought", Sir Thomas Beecham. Link to comment
ecwl
Chrome v53/54 definitely works. Tidal is probably just too lazy to update their website. The point though is that if you use other browsers like Edge/Safari/Firefox, Tidal doesn't support Tidal HiFi (lossless playback). For some reason, only Chrome supports lossless playback. But I have to admit I've switched over to using the Tidal desktop app nowadays if I'm playing music from my laptop/desktop. Link to comment
