accwai
Is there a surge protector that doesn't adversely affect the sound? I was using those Blue Circle yellow things, until I realized my system sounded so much better without them. They're supposed to be installed only when not listening, but I found myself too lazy to unplug them during a listening session, and then plug them back in afterwards. I have a little yellow sticky label next to the DAC switch with the word Banana on it. That reminds me to remove the thing every time I turn on the DAC. For me that little effort is worth it. kennyb123
So are we listening to surge protectors or expensive power outlets? How do others deal with that issue? I use the original Quantum QBase QB8 as my power distribution strip. This features high quality outlets plus star grounding. For protection, I have a Shunyata Venom Defender plugged into it: http://www.shunyata.com/index.php/products-vm/power-distribution/venom-defender-detail If I was in the market for a high quality power distribution strip today, I think I'd be inclined to select the Shunyata Venom PS8.
