LBob
Just noticed that when I buy a download from eClassical I get a "Real Time ISA" fee added to my VISA bill. Found out the ISA stands for international service assessment. Evidently because eClassical is in Sweden. Same thing happened when I bought Audirvana+. The fees are tiny. I think the largest one was 38 cents, but I can't think of why they are justified in charging me anything. Is anyone else getting this charge? Am I a hopeless curmudgeon for thinking that VISA is ripping me off? 2012 MacMini 8G ram -> Audirvana + 3.0 -> Mcintosh MHA 100> Nordost > Audeze LCD X Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
I have all kinds of similar fees on my cards. I'm guessing there is a money conversion fee or some fee the card company must pay so they just pass it on to the customer. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
DigiPete
I have an European (Danish) bank debit Visa card, I pay a USD 6 fee every time I use an ATM outside my country. That's it. I have never paid a fee for buying anything online. I usually get stuff from Europe or USA. I did do a lot of bank transfers to and from the USA when I had an American girlfriend and that experience sucked. The American banking system seemed so antiquated, I can't remember ever seeing anything that bad, not even France ;-) Perhaps Visa has to check your credit line and charges for that. Get a debit card, that may help. AudioDoctor
that the America banks charge that fee because they can. They love charging fees. A debit card will not help one bit, the fee will still be charged. No electron left behind. Link to comment
