    Computer Audiophile Personal Blogs

    BLOGS.pngHave you ever wanted to try your hand at writing product reviews or give out your own best of show awards at RMAF? How about taking the CA readers along on your journey from absolute beginner to confident computer audiophile? Want to share your system setup and help readers from all over the world experience what high quality computer audio is all about? Now is your chance to light up the Internet with your audio intellect or ignorance. Today CA announces personal blog pages for all registered readers!

    Everybody has something to offer whether it's a wealth of knowledge or stories about fumbling through this wonderful hobby of ours. Personal blog pages are only limited by a user's imagination (within reason of course). Some readers are experts on portable audio, linux based audio, or car computer audio while others are full of sage advice accumulated over several decades. All of this can currently be shared in the forums, but will be much more personal, easier to follow, easier to find, and a more enjoyable read when written in your own CA Blog.

    <b>Embedding Images In Blogs</b>

    Computer Audiophile uses standard HTML syntax. For 99.999% of the Earth's population HTML is a four letter word with the connotation of those "other" four letter words. Here are some helpful tips.

    You must either attach images using the Attachment feature available on each article, Blog Entry, and comment or host the images elsewhere such as any popular image hosting site of your choice. After attaching an image to your Blog Entry the URL of the image will be displayed directly below the attachment description.

    <img src="http://images.computeraudiophile.com/graphics/2011/1010/attchments-700-arrows.png"></img>

    To embed an image and place text to the right of the image use the following <b>bold</b> syntax that's next to the dummy text.

    <img src="http://images.computeraudiophile.com/graphics/2011/1010/syntax-image-left.png"></img>

    Final result will look like this:

    <img src="http://www.computeraudiophile.com/files/image001.png" style="padding: 5pt 10pt 10pt 5pt;" align="left">Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

    To embed an image in an article use the following syntax.

    <img src="http://images.computeraudiophile.com/graphics/2011/1010/img-src-2.png"></img>

    Final result will look like this:

    <img src="http://www.computeraudiophile.com/files/image02.png"></img>

    <b>CA Personal Blog Launch</b>

    This is the launch of CA Personal Blogs version 1.0. As the Blogs develop more features may be added based on user input. I can't wait to see what the CA readers have in store for their own Personal Blogs.

    Kidding, I see this as becoming quite entertaining reading after some time has passed to allow the content to mature.

    If I were to do the writing in MS Word, or some other application, and paste the result into the Blog for posting, would the formatting carry over?

    Hi AudioDoctor - Unfortunately applications use their own formatting that's never compatible with anything online. It's possible to export or save as HTML document then paste into a Blog, but the results will vary. <br />

    Like "Jud", I look forward to some very entertaining and enlightening blogs from some of the "thinkers" on this forum. (Hopefully you know who you are so we don't have to be embarrassingly specific. .)<br />

    <br />

    Great idea Chris!

    They're awesome.<br />

    <br />

    Is there a way to subscribe to a particular person's blogs (rather than their individual articles)?<br />

    <br />

    [it's easy to miss an update when it split into parts and where part 2 isn't an update on part 1]

    Hi Jay - You can subscribe to a persons' blog and view their own blog page. <br />

    <br />

    Subscribe -> At the bottom of one of their blog entries you can click Subscribe. This will give you the desired options.
