HannesB posted a topic in General ForumSorry, noob trying to sort a sound issue regarding our community group sound system and is hoping somebody would be able to provise some advice. Issue we have is that our community group sound system amplifier 'blew up' for the second time in about 6 months and we've been without an amplifier for the past month and a half. Last time it costed many hundreds of dollars to repair and it seems we'll be up for similar cost again. I started looking at whether I can get another used amplifier to help us out 'till ours is fixed but could'nt find any that use the same connectors that our current wiring have. Through another post I was advised that it is Phoenix connectors and suggestions was made that I should get another amplifier and just remove the Phoenix connectors and use whatever connectors the replacement amplifier have. When suggesting a replacement amplifier to the person who is 'managing' our sound system I was asvised that because we have Bose speakers we have to use a Bose amplifier. Because I am not a sound 'expert' I didn' want to start an argument but question why we have to have a Bose amplifier because we have Bose speakers. The explanation our sound operator gave, following advice from 'experts', is just as an Apple computer system is not compatible with a Microsoft system the Bose speakers will only work with a Bose amplifier. Can anybody advise whether there is some truth in this and what the issue is with regards to Bose speaker compatibility with other amplifiers. I can understand that Bose may have special connections, ie. Phoenix connectors etc., but why would there be any issues driving Bose speakers with another amplifier. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hey Guys, I'm planning on getting the rha t20i's for my android. the issue is, that they have the ctia standard for apple devices so if i plug them into my aux port the volume buttons won't work. but since apple released the new ipads with usb type c and subsequently released an usb-c to aux adapter(probably digital with a chip i believe, not analog like many on the market. don't quote me on that), i was wondering if i could make the remote work on my android using the apple adapter.

Here's the Bose QC-25 - the most famous of the noise cancelers I think. And it's extremely good at canceling noise, with a couple minor caveats. From what I hear with this headphone, they managed to not only be the best at noise cancellation, but they produced a near-perfect audiophile signature at the same time. I can't say that all aspects of the sound quality are audiophile-grade, but listening to many very familiar music tracks, the details were present and the tone qualities seemed correct. The build quality is luxurious, and if the QC-25 proves to be durable, the $300 USD price tag seems like a good value. In the picture links I included, you'll be able to see the major differences between the Active mode and Passive mode signatures. Bose QC-25 Around-ear Noise Canceling Stereo Headphone review
Hi everyone. I'm really not that big in the HiFi or Audiophile area but I already got a pair of Bose 901 from the 80s and thought it would be a waste throwing them away. I know the opinion about these Speakers is divided, I however like them quite a lot. Right now my setup is the following (Pictures attached): 2x Bose 901 Series II including (active?) Equalizer, Technics SU-V10X Amp Magnat Quantum 6725A (plugged in via the remote speaker sockets on the Amp) (and completely irrelevant: The Hitachi PS-38 Turntable) The Equalizer and the Amp are both on 100% "default" settings. So currently the setup still "works" however, the volume shifts without input change, meaning the music gets louder or quieter occasionally without a correlation to other technical systems (TV, iPad, ..) that i was able to observe. Also sometimes there is a very displeasing high pitched noise that is best noticed when the input is turned off (so no music, just the setup running) I'm a total novice in these topics and English is not my native language so if I explained stuff with the wrong vocabulary please feel free to correct me, knowing the proper terminology helps me search more successfully for solutions on the internet Due to the problems with the current setup, I was eyeing with replacing the AMP however I do not want to spend more then 700€ on the replacement if possible. Now my biggest problem so far was, that I could not find any Amp that would allow input and output as the Technics does to include the Equalizer and I have no idea how else to make sure the signal gets properly adjusted. Alternatively I am open for suggestions on how to best utilize the Bose 901 Stereo system if the whole system can be purchased with a reasonable price (<1200€) which includes the Sub woofer if possible. Advice on how to properly set up the equalizer and amp to maximize the 901 would also be appreciated. Thanks for any kind of input in advance
Hello everyone! I am new to the forums Anyways, I am currently use Bose AE2 Noise canceling headphones and while I do love the quality of these headphones, I have heard that Bose quality is easily dwarfed by Sennheiser. I want to know if this is true and if so what kind of suggestions you guys can give me. I want noise cancellation and over-ear preferably. I just want everything to sound crisp and clear just like my Bose. Looking to speed up to 400$ Thank you
Bose QC25 willing to become wireless :)
Lollo0711 posted a topic in Headphones & SpeakersHi all! First post here, so nice to meet you all My dilemma is the following: I've a pair of Bose QC25 that I use for everything: phone, music listening, gaming, isolate myself from the outside world.. Everything. I was wondering, is there a way to make them wireless and keep a decent quality? I recently bought this: Sony SH20 which is a bluetooth device where you can plug any headphone you want, but the quality is awful! Any suggestion on how to sort it out? Anyone with the same (solved) problem I'd possibly need something that has a mic, or, even better, use the bose's mic! Thanks a lot! Lollo
