Inquiry about some MFSL UltraDiscs

Recommended Posts

Anyone out there have the following Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UltraDiscs:

Supertramp -- "Breakfast In America"

Pink Floyd -- "The Wall"

Don Henley -- "Building The Perfect Beast" and "The End Of The Innocence"

Police -- "Synchronicity"

Sting -- "The Dream Of The Blue Turtles"

Alan Parsons Project -- "Tales Of Mystery And Imagination: Edgar Allan Poe"

Steve Winwood -- "Arc Of A Diver" and "Back In The High Life"

Tom Petty -- "Damn The Torpedoes" and "Full Moon Fever"

John Lennon -- "Imagine" and "Double Fantasy"

How do these sound? Are they good? If not, why?

Thanks.

They sound very good, especially Imagine.

But the 2010 remasters are based on the original masters (not Yokos 2002 versions) and also sound good.

Main listening (small home office):

Main setup: Surge protectors +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Protection>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three BXT (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three BXT

Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup.
Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

Pink Floyd -- "The Wall"

Sting -- "The Dream Of The Blue Turtles"

Steve Winwood -- "Arc Of A Diver" and "Back In The High Life"

I have the four above and I think that they are all very good.

I don't recall there being a huge difference on the "Arc Of A Diver" album between the MFSL disc and the standard issue disc.

My favourite MFSL discs are Supertramp's "Crime Of The Century" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon".
