If you find yourself in the Phoenix, AZ area, a visit to the Musical Instrument Museum is a most interesting and educational experience. There are more than 8,000 instruments from 200 countries, including many guitars.

A bit too far for me. But I've taken my kids to see the Bate Collection which is local.

My youngest is (still) learning classical guitar, but the eldest has just given up on his piano lessons...

Of special interest at the Musical Instrument Museum is a gallery devoted to instruments played by famous contemporary musicians, including Elvis Presley's Martin D28 guitar and a piano played by John Lennon.
