I am planning to get new SSD's for my fan-less music service.

Did anyone done a kind of shoot out what SSD Model has the best SQ for a high end music system?

Optane P4800x PCIe with Intel VMD

 

next level up should be Optane P5800x......but haven't tried yet

I am using Optane P4800x for the OS already.

Hi Ilona,

 

I am using P4800x 375G for OS and 905P 1.5T for music files storage.

 

Even for music filesstorage, using Optone 905P still benefits....

I haven't tested this personally but the guys at Antipodes recommend the Samsung 860 or 870.

Based on their recommendation I went with the 860.  It was after reading some online reviews I opted for the EVO over the PRO model.  
 

It looks to me like the 860 EVO was what Antipodes has installed in my K30 as the boot volume.  Seems that is nice confirmation of use of this drive in music servers.
