MarkusBarkus
Honestly, there is very little that really stops these low frequency waves, but decoupling them from the floor should help. If the rail-yard a quarter-mile away is idling a couple of diesel engines getting ready to go, I can hear and feel it in my house. I'm MarkusBarkus and I approve this post. Link to comment

None of them will isolate the floor from the bass vibrations generated in the air. Have to agree here. It's a matter of damage limitation. Who knows how your neighbour perceives noise, bass in case, through your floor. What you may feel is okay is annoying for another person. Can you somehow play music in your room, preferably a typical bass (heavy) tune for you, and check yourself the sound in your neighbours room ? To be frank my whole apartment is one floor. I have never heard a complaint from downstairs though. I don't think I would though. I could however feel a bit of bass on the floor under my feet before I got the podiums and now I don't. So that's something. My impression of the action of the springs is that nothing could pass through. I understand that springs isolate in both directions - what is placed on top isolate from what is underneath and vice versa - in other words it goes two ways. That is how it strikes me from other springs I use elsewhere in my system set-up too. It's actually what Max Townshend says about these podiums and he does know a thing or two more about springs than I do. That's as much as I can say. So hope it is helpful. Perhaps I should have qualified my original statement a bit. hltf Link to comment
