Popular Post PeterSt
Each element (name it) improves vastly (and not just different). But the most surprising is the PC. Of course I know this for years, but today I may regard the PC more important than the DAC. Popular Post PeterSt
David - thanks. This is nothing much about proprietary matters. For me this is about an overkill of "capacity" (contrary to CAPS like machines), combined with the ultra-fastness of the PSU elements, that in itself combined with the fact that it should not be a switching PSU (which are inherently ultra-fast - just saying). Next up, and this is about the real finesse, it is about a super stable current usage (think shunt-like). If you now compare with the contenders (or with Taiko, or with CAPS-like), you can see differences all over the place. Think in the realm of 40 cores, weighing 14Kg/31lbs only (including linear PSU, including cooling and dead silent, not even water cooled). I did not want to make this a commercial / self-advertisement. I only can't put enough emphasis on the importance of the PC (playback machine). vmartell22, bambadoo and manueljenkin 1 2 Lush^3-e Lush^2 Blaxius^2.5 Ethernet^3 HDMI^2 XLR^2 XXHighEnd (developer) Phasure NOS1 24/768 Async USB DAC (manufacturer) Phasure Mach III Audio PC with Linear PSU (manufacturer) Orelino & Orelo MKII Speakers (designer/supplier) Link to comment

My interest is in finding out what things make an improvement and why. To the extent that you're willing to share that information, I say let's do it. Thank you, David. From there I'd like to more honestly (because verifiable by most) refer to this post I just made. This with the notice that a change like that (which I only applied day before yesterday) is way way more drastic than applied mods to a PC. So this subject is so nice because indeed most people can check it (simply because (I'd say) most people own a Lush^2). The trick of course is, that in this case it is about how to find the "better" configuration, in order to comply to your quest. But really, once we go from one config (say a not-the-best one) to a Yahoo! one, the change is as wild as it can be. So for those not owning this cable, it is beyond imagination. And yet again: quite unexpected for most, or unbelievable still for many. Because you kind of asked for elaboration as well: The original Lush works with "audio compliant" frequencies / impedances instead of the USB2 standard, and the Lush^2 (with an original Lush inside) plays with the shielding properties. The difference between the original Lush (making digital sound analogue) and the Lush^2 are really only the additional shields/screens and the isolations. So impedance is different for sure, but also variable. Btw, this latter will not be the most crucial; what will be is the interaction between stopping out-going radiation (from the cable) and stopping entering radiation (from the nearby environmental equipment), while the cable will even interact with itself (first emit, next capture that same further down the line - to the degree of how the shields are configured .. et voilá. Some kind of explanation is there.
