depends on where you want to put the fuse, in the primary (230V) or secundairy side (24V) 

12 Amp is far too much for the 230V side for a fuse to be meaningful...the transformer manufacturer will likely have a fuse recommendation for the primary (230V) listed on the label, you'll need a slow blow in the order of magnitude of ~1.5A 230V primary

 

P=U*I so 192 VA divided by 230V makes 0.83A yet the inrush current is higher for toroidal transformers so you need some 'headroom'.

 

but I'm not sure if this is a project someone not aware of this should undertake, no offense!, aside from lethal voltages things can go kaboom, and the Taiko ATX is both expensive and not indestructible.

I'm not so sure, I'd much rather have someone weigh in on on XDMI than a new MB and CPU, from what read following the threads on xdmi the extreme and olympus my take is that Taiko selected this combo as successor for the Xeon sage combo that sounded best as they had to because the xeon is getting long in the teeth and low in supply...as in not better but closest to the extreme.

 

From all I read XDMI and the battery supply management system is what is going to potentially take things further by a mile or two...not having heard the thing, but I trust Emile when he claims such.

I'm not sure if mixing up things like source and DAC and upsampling is a great thing...

Having played with PGGGBBSSSGGGWWW a bit I was initially impressed by the difference but a bater later on felt it moved further away from emotion and expression.

Anyhow, if a server was built to the highest standard one can always dabble with upsampling or PCM and DSD...the results will also differ across various DACs.

 

Some like their fish served as Sashimi, some like it Tatakii style, some cook it well done...
