What gives better SQ?

 

1) router > copper > low-cost FMC > fibre > ER > copper > Streamer/Mediaplayer/DAC

2) router > copper > sonore OM > fibre > ER > copper > Streamer/Mediaplayer/DAC

3) router > copper > ER > fibre > ER > copper > Streamer/Mediaplayer/DAC

4) router with integrated FMC > fiber > ER > copper > Streamer/Mediaplayer/DAC

I use a Ghentaudio Belden 1303E Cat6A Ethernet (JSSG369) cable between router and FMC but exchanged a second Ghentaudio Belden 1303E Cat6A Ethernet (JSSG369) cable between ER and Streamer by a CSL Cat 7 cable from Amazon.

As I remember, you and John recommended good short cables for connecting a separate clock-device to the Etherregen. We all know, you don't recommend certain cable brands, but let me ask you some spec-facts. What types would you choose?

 

- max. length: 30 cm / 50 cm / 100 cm / > 100 cm / DNM (= "does not matter")

- connectors: RCA-cable (interconnect) with BNC-adaptor / "coax-digital cable" with soldered BNC-connectors / DNM

- connector-fitting: soldered / soldered with "silver-solder" / screwed / crimped / DNM

- conductors: silver / silver-plated copper / OCC / OFC / DNM

- conductor layout: solidcore / braided / DNM

- cable-shielding: "standard" coaxial shielded / antenna-cable type shielded / JSSG360 / unshielded / DNM

- any more specs? / DNM

Q1: What do you think - will this be an appropriate 3-way power supply (voltage set to 3 x 12v) for 2 daisy-chained EtherRegens + 1 external word-clock?

Q2: If I connect 2 channels of a BG7TBL word-clock to 2 daisy-chained EtherRegens (router > fiber > ER1 A-in > ER1 B-out > cat > ER2 A-in > ER2 B-out > cat > media player), will this break the EtherRegen´s moats?

I tried with 9 V (preset) first but changed to 12 V during my testing for comparison reasons. You can calibrate in 0.1 V steps using the Hypsos´ build in sweetspot-feature. In fact, I will do that, when I get my ordered Audioquest power cable.
