I have a musical fidelity VLINK-192 that I use in my office rig.  Just for kicks, I'm curious to try SPIF in my main rig but not sure if possible as I think the VLINK may need a driver on USB device feeding the DAC.

 

I have tried once and get no sound.  I'm using ROON + HQP on a control wkst sending to NAA microRendu in audio rack to Lampizator L7.  Should this be plug and play or will the VLINK not work in this setup and or is there another output mode in sonicorbiter I could try?

Try this in order:

1. Remove the power cable from the Rendu and the DAC.
2. Connect the power cable to the DAC and power it on.
3. Connect the power cable to the Rendu.
4. Go to Apps / DAC Diagnostics and confirm the DAC is present.
5. Go to Settings / Roon Ready and press Save.
6. Go to Roon / Settings / Audio and enable the Rendu.

7. Play something in Roon then go to Apps / DAC Diagnostics and confirm that the momentary frequency matches the playback content's sample rate. If it does the issue is elsewhere.

Ok thanks I’ll give that a go.  

Based on your instructions I’m assuming the NAA / HQP wouldn’t work in this situation.  That’s what I tried initially.
