Patatorz
Hello, I just saw the availability of the upgrade from 8.10 to 8.20. Something special to do for the extrm option ? Blog / Forum Link to comment
guilders
Hi there, I have issues with v8.20. I upgraded from V8.10 (as usual it took 2 and a half hours but went ok). Then I can not access gentooplayer with orangesqueeze, I notice that LMS and squeezelite are disabled. Trying to enable them it says no key found. So I go to the register settings and input my keys again, it works, I can enable LMS and squeezelite. Then trying to have the system in RAM, after the reboot, LMS and squeezelite are disabeld again and the system is not in RAM. Maybe is RAM system is creating issues ? My system is RPI4, I tried kernel 6.1.34RT Link to comment

Looks like the upgrade removed some things, like the key, and they had to be done again. So after upgrade: put the keys in and haev the system in ram and it works. Link to comment
Dandou
Hi @antonellocaroli , I stream with HQPlayer from a server to the Host, and then with Diretta to the Target. Since I upgraded to v8.2, HQPlayer stops seeing the Target after playing 2-3 tracks. Though, nothing is displayed as crashed on the Systeminfo of the Host, I must reboot the Host to make HQPlayer seeing the Target again. Then, the same issue occurs again after 2-3 tracks… I tried changing the kernels on the Host, and on the Target, but it did not resolve the issue. Both the Host and the Target run the latest update of Diretta. What should I do? It's strange, but nothing crashes on the Host this time. Still it is necessary to reboot the Host to make HQPlayer seeing the Target again. I did not do clean install. I upgraded the with "GP-Version Update". I will disable the profile on the Host, and will reduce the software that runs on it. If the issue continues, I will download the image of v8.2, and flash it. As far as I am aware the only OS on the PC is Windows 10 installed on its SSD, I've not tried to install GP on its SSD if that's what you're asking. I have only tried to run GP on this laptop by booting from the flashed SD card in a USB reader. Used this image for flashing both the SanDisk and the Samsung SD cards - GentooPlayer-UEFI-OpenRc-8.10.img which I downloaded a few weeks ago. Will try reflashing the SD as you suggest. @antonellocaroli I tried rewriting the Samsung SD card as well as a third Sandisk SD card, including also trying the flashing again from another PC. Still no success with any GP flashed SD card on thr X240 PC. Same error messages occur each time. I was going to try booting using these cards from a second PC I have available to me but the bios is locked down so unable to access boot menu to boot from USB. Will need to find/borrow another (third) PC to try it on. Have you encountered this behaviour/these errors before? Likely explanation? Link to comment

And maybe also borrow another PC. Thanks. Link to comment

A PC works better with a USB stick. It's easy to set the bio to boot on USB as a primary option, and to boot on the internal SSD if no bootable OS is connected to a USB port. I was helped to set the bio of my Host this way, so I forgot how we did. Ask a Windows user to help you. Link to comment

And successfully booted once last week as you know. Other PC is work PC with locked down/inaccessible bios boot menu. Anyway I will buy and try a USB drive. (I also had a spare second USB SSD I was going to try but it was faulty… I am having some bad luck). Dandou 1 Link to comment
Auke
@antonellocaroli Thanks for the update! Clearly better sounding. Haven't checked all the different 6.1.34 kernels yet.. One question what is the use for the different kernel choice in diretta. I can go back to a earlier kernel which one is that, is it different than the 6.1.34 kernels? Link to comment

For me the best sounding is 6.1.34-GentooPlayer-MIN-NOGRAPH-EUP+ For rpi4 (don't have CLTO for rpi4) 6.1.34-GentooPlayer-MIN-NOGRAPH-EUP-CLTO+ for rpi3 (haven't tried the non clto version) The rpi4 is my host Rpi3 (pi2aes) the target LMS, Sqeezelite, Diretta Link to comment
jeep972
Hi @antonellocaroli, Do you think 6.1.34 Clto kernel or higher will ever be compatible with usbridge signature. So far I am using 5.15.92 Clto kernel and the sound quality is amazing compared to 5.15.92. I'm just a little disappointed that the ubridge is not currently compatible with clto kernels higher than 5.15.92. Can you tell me more if you can. Thank you so much WuBai 1 Link to comment
