magicacaca
I've got 1TB of storage which I want to make available on my network at home so that I can deliver video from it to multiple TVs instead of just one. The problem is the storage only has USB (or Firewire) connectivity, and my router doesn't have a USB port. I have an alternative router which has a USB port, but just to add to my pain, I can't replace the router because I get my normal TV service delivered through it (IPTV to a Set Top Box). I know I could just go out and get a full-on NAS with an Ethernet port, but I really want to use the hardware I already have. Ideas anyone......? Link to comment
vortecjr
The easy thing to do is just share the drive off any computer on the network. I did it here for a long time and it works fine. I have not tried this, but you could try a usb drive to network adapter and report back how it works: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812719001&cm_re=usb_to_network_adapter-_-12-719-001-_-Product Jesus R www.sonore.us SONORE computer audio | opticalRendu | ultraRendu | microRendu | Signature Rendu SE | endPoint | opticalModule DX | Power Supplies | Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
You can also turn off the routing capability in you extra router and use it as a switch. Then just connect it to your network with the USB drive plugged in and it should work. This way it should work as an adapter. No need to plug anything else into this device.
