Which is why the disciplined OCXO's sure seem to sound better than the synthesized disciplined things. I really did not expect the quality of the sound to change, I was surprised. An OCXO has very low jitter all by itself. The rubidium (or GPS) reference is only needed for extremely accurate frequency and long-term stability. Nobody can hear a difference of a few ppm, so that's pointless for audio. Link to comment
