Wait a second.  I'm booted into the system with a keyboard now.  Do I need do something else? If so, what?

OK, I got it working now.  The directions I have don't say anything about installing the software once you flash the card so I thought it was all done and ready to go.

DSD256 works but with a terrible tone in the background but I'm sure this will be solved in the coming release.  In the meantime I have USBridge working.  Finally.

Great!  Look forward to the new release!

An update to all.  I have to thank @allo.com and Dan (too bad he's not here) from DietPi.  They worked tirelessly to solve my issue with upsampling to DSD256 with the Brooklyn.  The issue (attached vid) is that I have tone while upsampling but music is playing.  Ever hear of this?  In the end, Mytek needs to step up and help but I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about that at the moment.  This will certainly say a lot about my future with this dac as customer service is very important to me.

My USBridge is playing DSD128 files without any issue though and is powered currently using the Hynes SR3-5 and the included wall wart with "J28" removed.  It really does sound great!  I should also mention that with trouble shooting I'm currently using the Ethernet to USB adapter as well.

I have not heard of this. I'm using a microRendu running Sonicorbiter 2.5 into my Mytek Brooklyn. I replicated your setup and it plays fine here. Is the Allo a RoonReady endpoint or a RoonBridge endpoint? If you are not sure you can look in Roon / Audio Setup / Networked.

I don't know and don't see see it based on your location.

did they resolve the issue you had to your satisfaction? Can you make any comparisons to other players?

If it was up to them it'd be fixed.  Sadly, @Mytek_Support @mytek is very slow in responding to help @allo.com with assistance.  In the meantime, DSD128 subjectively sounds delightful.  I'll go back and try the sMS at some point in the next week or so.  I have a lot of travel this coming week so I won't be able to do much.

Doesn't the work done so far say this problem is Allo's issue (unique to Allo)? Doesn't exist with the mRendu or other streamers?

It's a code issue (DietPi) and they're asking Mytek for help in figuring out what the issue is.  Certainly not an unusual request as this happens frequently.  The difference is that Mytek is beyond slow with help.  As a customer, not good!

Numbers speak when it comes to getting support resource. You can bet if this were an Apple device conflict they would be all over it, even if they knew it was Apples problem to fix. Conversely if you are the only user reporting a problem, its  going to be hard to get support from any vendor. Any other Allo users reporting same issue?

No idea but I promise you I won't keep my Brooklyn.  I'm all about customer service...if this is an issue for them it speaks volumes down the road.  I'll gladly tap out.  It's totally up to them IMO.

Does this mean that I'll have to update to this version or that my current version will auto update to this as I'm away at the moment?

v156 released, users can update with:
dietpi-update

https://github.com/Fourdee/DietPi/blob/master/CHANGELOG.txt#L13

So we burn the new image and then it's auto from there?

EDIT:  I clicked on the link and it's just a change log.  No directions or anything  @allo.com  please advise.

I have asked the team to make step by step instructions. However better to wait for the GUI version that is coming very soon.

I literally started it up and plugged my TV into it.  It said there was an update available, logged in and typed "dietpi-update" and it did the rest and did a reboot.  Done.  Look forward to the GUI though!

Hi,

Many thanks for the feedback.

We are currently working on a pre-installed image with @allo.com, this will include:
- No SSH/Terminal configuration needed.

- Slick web Interface to control/configure the device.
- Roon, MPD, O!MPD, ShairPort-Sync, WiFi Hotspot, NAA Daemon, all preinstalled and ready to run.

This will bypass the DietPi guide, and the need to configure DietPi completely.

Once we've completed testing and ironed a few remaining issues, we'll create a webpage dedicated to informing users of this image, features and how to use it.

What is the realistic timeframe?

Hi

we are in the process of testing the image. Realistically , 1 week to release .

I'll wait to see what you come up with but I must say I'm impressed considering it takes some months and months to do.

Image released .

All existing users, who tried the previous testing images, should re-write the new image to match official release.
I'll continue to support the images and web interface, applying updates/fixes through DietPi.

Changes since the last images:

  • GENERAL: Auto swapfile size generation on first boot.

  • GENERAL: NetData and Samba file-server now installed by default. Samba can be used to easily transfer music to MPD/O!MPD directory.

  • MPD SETTINGS PAGE: Added ability to set "Native" output frequency and bit depth. Source format will match output format.

  • STATUS PAGE: Added ability to launch the NetData web interface.

@allo.com @Daniel Knight

You guys are very impressive!  The GUI works like a champ!

I can't remember when I mentioned that this was needed but it can't be that much longer than a month ago.

Web interface passed local testing.

Can you confirm:

- SBC device used

- IP address of the system

- URL used to access web interface (should be http://IP)

Sparky SBC

10.0.1.104

Yes, in the past I just enter the above and it works but it's not now after the update.

The Allo GUI is only pre-installed with the Allo GUI images:

http://dietpi.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2317&p=8869#p8869

Did you use the stock DietPi image (http://dietpi.com/download) or one from the above link?

Yet again I'm so confused.  Can you post a direct link to the actual download that I need to install?  These downloads show 9/2017 and I thought what I need is something recent?
