wwaldmanfan
I don’t know that much about headphones. I have two pairs of Sennheisers—open-back HD 600’s for late-night listening through my desktop rig, and an old pair of cheap PX 100’s, which fold up and fit in your pocket. The sound quality for those is adequate for playing mp3’s from my iPod or iPhone, but they are on-ear style, and useless on an airplane, with the drone from the engines. I need something more appropriate, a sealed, over-ear design, and efficient enough (low Ω) for my iPod Nano or iPhone to drive them. I don’t know anything about “noise-cancelling" designs, and don’t find in-ear types comfortable. Can anyone offer some advice? My budget is ~$250. Link to comment

Neil C
Audio Technica M50x have good isolation and sound great. For a bit more money as the Sennheiser Momentum 2 over ear are fine too, but harder to drive than the ATs. I have the ATs. Link to comment
ecwl
I find closed headphones to be virtually useless on planes. So the choices are down to in-ear monitors (and I use RHA MA750) or noise cancelling headphones (from Sennheiser or Bose). Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile Link to comment
DaQi
Have you tried the Bose QuietComfort in-ears? They are very comfortable and the noise cancelling is the best. It seems particularly well tuned to eliminate jet noise. Sound is okay and they are easily portable. I travel a lot and use mine a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile Link to comment
sindey
I have heard good reviews about Sennheiser Momentum Wireless, two of my friends are using them. i'm not a headphone fan because I prefer it loud but I could suggest that brand as one of the best. Link to comment
CrushingIt
Beyer Dynamic DT-1350. Crazy good for something so small that folds up Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile Link to comment
