Maybe try Bitperfect from the Apple App Store. Lets you keep your EQ settings but gives you a straight path to the DAC.

That is because it is playing the music flat and bit-perfectly. Experiment with the AU plug-ins. You can use the built-in equalizer AU plug-in to duplicate what iTunes does, and I'll bet the difference goes away.

Well, there you go. If you want to compare it to something else, either play it flat via iTunes, or use the same equilizer settings on the other software.

Ok, found how to add the EQ and now I am getting somewhere!

If you change the sound of native iTunes do it the same in Audirvana or others...

Finally found a solution that works for me and sounds better than iTunes! It is Fidelia. It has a simple, clean interface and easy to use sound adjustments.
