EuroChamp
Be careful with this new Elvis release. The sound quality ist so dull and flat, I get a headache from ... It is one of my worst 24 bit albums now. Link to comment
firedog
Thank you for the warning. Nothing worse than buying a "legacy" analog recording that has been Volume Compressed into crap for hi-res "audiophile" release. Really a shame, as those old Elvis recordings often were very well recorded. Main listening (small home office): Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments. Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three BXT Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup. Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare. All absolute statements about audio are false Link to comment
REShaman
Thank you, EuroChamp. I hovered over the purchase icon at one of the vendors (HDtracks or Pro Studio Masters) and then decided NOT to. Appreciate the notice. C'est domage. I'd rather lament not purchasing that album than lament the SQ once I did. Best, Richard Link to comment

EuroChamp
Hi! I prefer the Analogue Productions SACD's. I own and like: 24 Karat Hits Elvis is back Stereo 57 They are all samplers with very good SQ. And there is an album with a golden cover in 24/96, it is called: 30 #1 Hits Any other recommendations? Hello EuroChamp, Just ripped my 3DVD box set of Elvis: '68Comeback, which may or may not appeal, because of it's complexity, i.e., outtakes vs straight production tracks only. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the entire album which I purchased from Amazon in 2004, but did not rip the DVDs to AIFF 48/24 tracks for my 2Channel system (by choice). Enjoying all the music, Richard Elvis: The '68 Comeback Special (Three-Disc Deluxe Edition) Link to comment
