franz159
Hi! I just installed version 2.3, thanks for the excellent work! I have now having issues with cover art images that I was not having with version 2.1. I added a couple of albums to the library, but cover art do not show either if I put a file "cover.jpg" in the folder with all the flac files or even "embedding" the cover file in each track using the metaflac utility.... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Franz Link to comment
MicheleM79
Hi Tim, just tested what you suggested, and from USB stick folders and files are visible! So the problem exhibits only from NAS. But I don't understand why, because files in these folders are FLAC as in every "music" subfolder , and permissions and structure are the same. There's no notable difference. Any ideas? Many many thanks, Regards Michele Hi Tim, an important result in some forward investigation: i connected to raspberry/moode with SSH, and if I navigate in /mnt/NAS/nasname/music/0-Z/ I can see all subfolders! Also "G" with subfolder "Guns N Roses". So it seems like it could be a problem of web interface? Many thanks, Regards Michele Link to comment
asturnauta
Hi I discovered moode few days ago and i like so much. I came from runeaudio and the change is great for me. Thanks for this great project tcmods I have a few questions about moode: 1 - Is it possible configure hdmi like audio output? I would like connect moode on a TV and use tv speakers. On 'Audio output' configuration only appears 'On-board audio devise'. Is this 3.5 jack output? 2 - Is it possible backupt configuration or better NAS shares? Maybe on future releases? 3 - I have an official Raspberry Pi wifi dongle but it is not recognize with 'ifconfi'. Is it possible to configure it or maybe in future releases? Thanks a lot. (1) ssh root@moode (pwd = moode) (2) telnet localhost 6600 (3) lsinfo "NAS/path to the folder that does not show up" If lsinfo comes back with error then look in mpd.log cat /var/log/mpd/mpd.log Regards, Tim Link to comment

Hi, Thanks for the compliment! If u plug in HDMI cable then On-board audio device refers to HDMI, otherwise it refers to the built-in audio port. No settings backup capability but maybe in future release What model wifi dongle do you have? Regards, Tim Link to comment

Michele Hi Michele, Double, triple check permissions on those particular NAS folders :-) The test results where same folders on USB stick ok but on NAS can't be accessed by MPD suggest a permissions issue on the NAS folders. I don't know how Rune has configured MPD so that it is able to access those folders. Maybe it is running with different user credentials than MPD on Moode. Its probably a different version of MPD as well but I don't think version is involved in the issue. Regards, Tim Curtis Link to comment

Here is from one of the MPD WiKi's "MPD needs to have +x permissions on all parent directories to the music collection and also read access to all directories containing music files." Above condition appears to be satisfied for the folders/files in the example, and its confirmed that MPD can access the same folders/files when they are on USB stick which indicates the path names etc are ok. I'm not sure what else to check, but one troubleshooting approach that might yield some info would be the following: (1) make a music2 dir on the server (2) copy the folders in question to music2 (3) make a samba share for music2 (4) configure a source for music2 on Moode Source config screen Basically making a fresh music share with just just the folders that MPD is not able to access, then seeing whether or no MPD is able to access them. MicheleM79
Thanks again Tim,I'll look forward in the problem and I'll try what you suggested, then I'll come back to report. Ciao! Michele Hi Tim, just tested...... I've created a fresh "music2" share as you suggested, and it works!!! O_O How is this possible ?!? Folders are the same (copy & past) and parameters of connection the same.... I'm with no idea right now.... EDIT: I've just found the solution!!!!!!!......a little embarrassing that I didn't think about before... the problem is....the name of folders!!!! The structure was this: /music/0-Z/ with subfolders "A", "B", "C", "D", ...and so on to "Z".... I've changed (for test purpose) to this: "01_A", "02_B", "03_C" ........and now (after updating database from moode) in the browse tab I can see all folders!!! What can be the problem? Do you think it's resolvable? Thanks, Ciao! Michele NEW EDIT: If I rename ALL folders with the aforementioned method, the problem remains... so subfolders "G" and "I" are no more visible in the browse page. If I rename only from "A" to "I" they are visible! Crazy thing... Link to comment

Michele Many thanks Ciao Michele Hi Michele, Since test music2/0-Z had the single letter folders and worked, I would try renaming a couple of the folders in the main music/0-Z/ back to the single letters then update db. Maybe they will work after the 2x rename. If not then maybe copy them all to "music2", then rename music to music_old then rename music 2 to music. Either way, progress :-) Regards, Tim Link to comment
tcmods
Hi, The following fix will be in Moode release 2.4 but if u want to apply it now just follow patch instructions below. The fix turns off MPD logging which I noticed is excessive and may be impacting performance. (1) ssh root@moode (pwd = moode) (2) nano /etc/mpd.conf (3) place # in front of log_file ... line to comment it out #log_file "/var/log/mpd/mpd.log" (4) Ctrl-x y <return> to save file (5) reboot (6) Moode System config page, "Clear system logs" NOTE: In release 2.3 and earlier, this fix will get overwritten if MPD settings are changed via MPD config UI. franz159
Regards, Tim Curtis Just a question: which MPD logging level were you adopting (default, secure, verbose)? If possible, setting also the log level would be much more flexible than simply turning the log on/off. Link to comment

If possible, setting also the log level would be much more flexible than simply turning the log on/off. Hi, What I noticed is that there actually is no log_level param in current Moode mpd conf, only the log_file param. This is causing what I believe to be "verbose" log level instead of "default" log level. The permanent fix in release 2.4 is to include log_level "default" but still leave #log_file which turns of logging. If logging were ever needed for troubleshooting, simply uncomment and set appropriate log_level. In my experience troubleshooting user issues, I rarely use any of the server logs, so I'm thinking that having the default configuration be "no logging" makes sense for audio player. tcmods
Hi, The following DAC's have been reported by users to work great with Moode. The two i2s DAC's will also appear in the i2s select list on System config page :-) Audiophonics PCM5122 DAC (i2s) Lucid Labs Raspberry Pi DAC (i2s) Arcam irDAC (spdif) Chord QuteHD (spdif) Chord 2Qute (usb) Matrix Mini-i Pro (usb) Regards. pascalibus
Hello Tim and thank you for this wonderful work. I use Moode for a month and everything is perfect. I would just add an image to a stream radio that I listen and I do not know how. It is a French radio and when I add the url in moode it works but I have only the default "radio moode audio player" image in the interface. (http://audio.scdn.arkena.com/11008/franceinter-midfi128.mp3) How to customize the image of a web radio ? Is it possible ? PS: Small bug. After clicking the name of a radio added in a playlist to listen it, the name is lost to the display, the interface displays only the url and not the name we gave to the radio when it was added manually by WEBRADIO/CREATE NEW STATION. Hi, Thanks for the nice compliment! I really appreciate it :-) The built-in radio stations and their names and logos are derived from a sqlite database table. User added stations currently get the default radio station logo. Adding a logo to a newly created station requires editing the sqlite table and a few other things. User added logos are something thats on my to-do list, just haven't gotten to it yet. Regards, Tim Link to comment
