Wow, that looks really interesting. If it's like similar Yamaha equipment that I'm familiar with, it will be very good for the money. Not as good as some audiophile separates, but quite a good piece of kit.

Would make a great centerpiece for a starting "audiophile system".

Main listening (small home office):

Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three BXT

Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup.
Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

Certainly interesting and probably very good value for the money. For example Musical Fidelity just upgraded their M6i integrated to M6si and included an asynchronous USB DAC. But for some strange reason it's limited to 96/24 PCM... And the price is over 2x of the Yamaha.

Their CD-S2100 SACD-player also includes a USB DAC and comes with ASIO drivers. I didn't find details if they provide ASIO drivers for the A-S801 too...

Technically A-S2100 is more interesting amp, since it's a Circlotron-design just like it's predecessor A-S2000.

The download of the driver is not available yet on the amp page, but the manual speaks about the "Steinberg USB driver", so it's probably the same driver as for the SACD players (Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V1.8.6 for Windows)
