Should I buy a Chord Hugo?

I'm looking for a dac that I can use with my iOS device and be portable. The Hugo is one possible solution. The other is get a CEntrance HiFi-8 and use my iOS Device.

 

Thoughts?

Give the AK240 a listen. It's a close call. You probably can't go wrong with the Hugo. I'm waiting for my AK240 to come back from Redwine Audio with the mod.

I've had a great time with the Hugo and am currently negotiating a price for my grandmother.

 

I had the HiFi M8 at the same time as the Hugo and although it's a very nice class-A amp and a very competent DAC, the Hugo is in another league.

Funny. I've started to look at it but am not clear about the two DSD models. I'd really like so sing that already has the XLR-4. Hilt in but not a deal killer.

The Mini is a desktop ersion.

 

Both the Nano and the Micro are battery powered portables and while the Nano goes to DSD256 and DXD, the Micro takes it full speed to DSD512 and PCM 768. Both use BB chips, but the Micro uses 2 per channel. The Micro has an iPurifier bult in ($100 retail) and has tons of headamp features the Nano lacks. The Micro can also charge up your portable DAP on the go.
