The Computer Audiophile
Janos Starker, one of the 20th century’s most renowned cellists, whose restrained onstage elegance was amply matched by the cyclone of Scotch, cigarettes and opinion that animated his offstage life, died on Sunday at his home in Bloomington, Ind. He was 88. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/30/arts/music/janos-starker-master-cellist-dies-at-88.html I first heard his work after taking a chance on an HDtracks download while looking for some good music. I really liked the album. Here's a link if anyone is interested. https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=catalogdetail&valbum_code=HX00028943201025 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

bdiament
A fabulous player! I got turned onto his work from the wonderful recordings he made with Bob Fine and Wilma Cozart for Mercury Living Presence. (My eternal gratitude to the great George Piros for sharing tales of his days with Bob and Wilma, which led me to explore that series and discover more audio heroes and the musical and sonic gems they created.) Best regards, Barry Soundkeeper Recordings Barry Diament Audio Link to comment
