wkhanna
Yes Please! I did not know she had a new release out. I have most of her previous albums & agree the sound quality is quite good. They tend to get a bit of over-play at shops & gatherings were 'philes congragate. It is a case were I feel that despite the audiophile stigmata, there is quite good music within. wkhanna
Aaron Neville: My True Story Just yesterday, The Wife asked if I had heard his interview on NPR as she was quite taken with him & his music. I had in fact heard it & may persue this for her sake & mine. Bill Practicing Curmudgeon & Audio Snob ....just an "ON" switch, Please! Link to comment

I am a big Patricia Barber fan since Modern Cool but of course I went back and added Distortion of Love and Cafe Blue and have several titles post-Modern Cool. I have never understood the 'audiophile darling' thing with her that some seem so bothered by. For me I simply have always thought of her as an exceptional artist. With regards to Smash and the HD Tracks 24/96 download I have only given one listen at the end of a very long day and cannot offer a detailed assessment at this point. I plan to give it several listens this weekend. It is Patricia, all originals and if I compare it to anything else of hers initially it would be Verse. "A mind is like a parachute. So have I and Modern Cool was also my first (a first audition full of "Ahhhs" and "ooohhs", when listing to Constantinople, the Doors cover and that misterious "Let It Rain"). I plan to give it several listens this weekend. It is Patricia, all originals and if I compare it to anything else of hers initially it would be Verse. This is already a good sign. Loved Verse and to me, "I Can Eat Your Words" could be a single piece to define Patricia. mwheelerk
There is some classic jazz bass, ripping guitar and of course some dissonant soundscapes. "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." Frank Zappa Link to comment

Congrats on buying some nice stuff though. "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." Frank Zappa Link to comment
Great Gig
Hmmm, well this probably won't count either as they are all pre-orders and have yet to arrive, but they are all 2013 releases. Patrica Barber - Smash (seems popular here) John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts Ron Sexsmith - Forever Endeavour Probably all available in the US already Of these the John Grant was the first one I ordered.
