Duke Ellington, Max Roach, Charles Mingus - Money Jungle -amazing jazz record by three giants 3.Jorma Kaukonen- Blue Country Heart -Jorma's best solo record with legendary Nashville studio musicians 4.Rev. Gary Davis - Harlem street Singer -If you don't know the Rev. start here 5.Velvet Underground - Loaded -obvious pick but still a great moment in music history-the guitar solo on Oh sweet nuthin 6.Lucinda Williams- Car wheels on a Gravel Road - at the height of her writing and singing power, every song a gem. last and best record with Gurf Morlix on guitar 7.Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers -again pretty obvious pick for 8. The Beethoven string Quartets - all of them, i'm not picking a particular recording 9. Dr. Alimantado - The Best Dressed chicken in town -best new old record i've discovered in the last year 10. Alban Berg Quartet w/ Heinrich Schiff -Schubert string Quintet in C (EMI) - the music i want to hear while i'm dying. Link to comment
