Just curious. I know that shortly after iTunes 12 was released, there were widespread reports that it screwed up metadata, artwork, etc., often on a massive scale. But it was never clear to me whether this happened only when people were using Apple Music, iTunes Match and/or iCloud, none of which I plan to use. So I'm wondering whether the latest version of 12 is safe to use without the threat of major problems. Any reports? THANK YOU! -Bob

I currently use iTunes as my media manager, my family has requested access to my media files so i signed up for iTunes Match. But, I want to keep my original high end Lossles files. Is there a media manager software that has a media player for iPhone? I'm hoping to replicate the usability of iTunes but with a better, cleaner media manager.

Hello, Windows 7 32 bit Asus Essence ST (7.0.8.1821 driver) iTunes 12.3.1 I have a question about an issue that has bugged me forever. I have an ASUS Essence ST sound card and it has four different options for Analog Out. Whenever you switch between Analog Out options or switch between gain options the sound card will make a physical clinking sound. Other message boards says this is normal. One user writes on HeadFi "That is normal. You are hearing the relays re-routing the circuit." My problem is whenever I open iTunes (7/10), my sound card will make the same clicking sound as if I'm changing Analog Out options or switching gains. I don't know what going on but I'm sure it's not normal. I don't know why this is happening but it's bugging me. I don't know if iTunes is changing any of my soundboard settings or what's going on. Does anyone know what's going on?

Apologies if this topic already has a thread. I haven't purchase any music from the Apple store for some time now. I have always had my default settings in iTunes as not connected to the store, and have always ensured iTunes Match and other such equivalents are switched off. This evening I went online to the Apple store to purchase an album (that I could not find elsewhere). Before I knew it: it appears that Apple has started to read my library and replaced my versions (ie higher than 256kpbs, either burnt from compact disc or purchased from other sites) with its on 256kpbs versions. I had to force quite iTunes, go off-line, restart ITunes, and attempt to switch off all communication between my version of iTunes and Apple online, and then re-establish an internet connection. A few searches online reveals that not only have my tracks been replaced with Apple's own 256kpbs versions, but apparently are now all with added DRM! Still not entirely sure which tracks have been replaced and which haven't... Anyone else had this experience? And does anyone know exactly how to ensure this doesn't happen again!?
