Hegel USB Dac and USB to Spif

Recommended Posts

Interesting wording in the press release. I really hope these DACs are wonderful, but I fear the press release is only serving to confuse people and change the focus from a technology not used by Hegel (async USB) to something used by Hegel (not technically identified).

Also, the use of the word asynchronous in the press release appears to be talking about the USB transfer mode but could also be talking about asynchronous sample rate conversion (ASRC). The reason I say this is because the press release says, "Often, DAC’s in ‘asynchronous mode’ actually INCREASE jitter." I wonder what DACs Hegel is referencing. I'll see if I can get some information from Hegel. I am really curious.
